So Randy Rhoads would look up a Classical Guitar Instructor first thing when he came to a new location,
and spend time learning everything possible from a new source.
What a dedicated artist! It showed in his performances too.
Sure wish he was still around...I can not imagine the virtuosity he would be giving us today. :P

    Is G.A.S. terminal?

I want to buy a set of strings...even though I have 12 sets sitting on my shelf.
    I bought a couple six-packs of \"Jim Dunlop Jazz III\" picks...because I just could not \"JONES\" any longer.
    I NEEDED to buy SOMETHING....ANYTHING. :shock: :roll: :evil: :P :? 8) :):lol::cry::cry::cry: :? :?: :arrow:

Boy, and I was worried chix would find ME boring...:lol:
The answer is yes, TOTally terminal. Unless you do it until you die of other causes. Right now I'm ferociously resisting the urge to pick up this pair of Laney bass cabs I spotted in a shop 100 miles away, used and overpriced. But tasty - nice compact 4x10 and 1x15, 250W each. Mmmmm....must...resist...can't....hold...on... :o
Sadly, gear acquisition at this particular point in time is a bad idea, since I might be kicked to the curb any day by my employers (leaving me simultaneously homeless...)

So you'll go to a guitar shop 100 miles away, but you won't go the distance to meet some women?

    Lighten up, Beavis.
First of all, I was in a town 100 miles away to do my bosses' travelling for them.
Second, this town I went to - which has the \"music store\", where I saw the bass cabs - the women are even more beastly than where I live (even if there are more of them). Idaho farm animals. Perhaps you forgot that I live 100 miles from anything, and the nearest anything with women in it is hundredS of miles away.
You make it sound like I dont WANT a woman-pal.
    So ease up, Lothario!!!

    Beggars can't be choosers :lol::lol:

Really...I've been to Jackson...and those Cowgirls ain't so hard on the eyes.

    fdIMG_9267.jpg

Now...you want to see some Northern Michigan women...you are in for a cultural shock.
Some you can't tell apart from the men...but they do know how to please their men. :)

:?: So who's begging? It's in the dictionary, and it's NOT synonymous with \"lusting\".

As far as 'tou's post goes - if there really WERE women like that in Jackson, I'd have no reason to lust for Anne or Jenn or Liz or Jessica or...or...
That said, I'm glad I don't live in MI!!!

So...what about the Laney's? Too much $ ? Unnecessary G/A/S outlay? (They're asking $600 the set, I'd rather get 'em for about $5 bills, tax included...)

...so...how does a G.A.S. Support Group work anyway?
What does enabling mean?...is that like plugging the unit in?

I know we are suppose to encourage each other to do the right thing...
    so...then I gotta say...BUY THOSE SUCKERS...

    :? 8) :P
  • Thanks for the \"support\"! I'd buy 'em in a heartbeat if:
#1 I actually NEEDED them, instead of just wanting them, and
#2 I wasn't sure I'll be kicked to the curb any day now, with nowhere to stow my gear. I'm just wondering who's gonna babysit my git'rs so they can live indoors while I \"re-situate\"... :?

So where do I join one of those groups?? 8)
  • Maybe the closest for you would be ...I forget the name of that building, but it is a Female Volleyball Training Center, and Modeling Agency, and they have Tanning Salons and Yoga Classes there. It's at the end of Snow King Ave. just past Baux Park....in Jackoff, Wyoming. :?
(there is a conference room there and sessions are held every Thursday night)

    So which would be hotter?
Jessica Simpson in her Daisey Duke outfit...carrying a fifth of Jack and a six-pack of Bud...strutting straight for you, intently focused upon ONLY you, biting her lower lip and, pausing just short of your grasp...like you are lounging at the end of your chain...straining against your choker collar...she lets you get real thirsty...and sweaty.

    or

Jessica Alba in a pink with white stripe tight sweater ending above the navel, with a wide revealing neckline... to a red and black plaid short cheerleader style skirt, held with a large gloss black belt with a gold buckle, and white bobbie socks hanging slightly loose above low red converse basketball shoes, while she is simply bent over reaching for her raspberry red lip gloss whatchamacallit...glancing at you with one eye through her hair draped across her face, beaming a shy smile, while she notices you biting your fist so hard tears come to your eyes? smile.gif

Hm. I should know that place, 'cuz I play hockey at the arena right there by Baux park 3 times a week all winter. I think the building you're talking about was torn down due to lack of use, and rebuilt as the Lonely Boys' Frisky Livestock And Video Gaming Center. :? :x
As far as making a choice between those two...no contest. DEFiitely Jessica Alba. J. Simpson is just paris hilton with good hair.
Heck, I'd be thrilled to have Alice stop by and ask me to fill her tank.
  • Definetly Jessica Alba.
    MMMMMMMMMMMMMM Jessica Alba

    Anyway my question:
Who makes better basses Peavey or ESP

    Me too. She's yummy. :D
I have a Peavey Grind 4 stg that I think its the bomb. Never played an ESP...

So...why does a thoroughbred hottie like J Simpson not even hold a candle to a babe like J Alba?!?

Oh she holds a candle alright...she holds it right between her....

    It's because she's dumber than a box-o-rocks...

    Scarlett Johanson or Keira Knightley?
  • Scarlett. Not as likable, but hotter. Keira ain't gonna look so good in 5 years, while Scarlett will look BETTER.

    Bridget Fonda or Andie McDowell?
  • Hmmm, tough one...both low on the hotness scale....but I would say Bridget any day (Point of No Return, mini skirt, silenced pistol, sniper rifle...)

What are you, 19!?! Andie's pretty n all, but Bridget is a babette, even in her late 30's. She was yummy in SWF, even with the nasty red hair; very hott in Point Of No Return, and totally adorable in Doc Hollywood. C'mon - sparkling pure-blue eyes, a smile that could knock you over from a block away, and a cute little size 2 hottiebody? Sheesh!

Okay...so...how 'bout Penelope Cruz v. Salma Hayek???

No, I'm a \"Lothario\"

Selma all the way....that striptease she did at the end of \"From Dusk til Dawn\" still makes me boil
Cruz is a frigid ice queen by comparison :o

    Charleze Theron or Mila Jovanavich?

Agreed - I've never seen Selma in a movie where she wasn't just smokin'.

    Charlize. Any day.

    Gibson or Fender? Why?
  • I prefer Gibson's over Fender's by personal preference. Unless you include Jackson's...then the choice is not at all difficult for me. My numeral uno choice is Ibanez over all others....but that is because I don't own a Jackson SL-1 USA Soloist yet.

Gibson and Fender have been making models which offer similar attractions to get the competitors business for years. You could make endless comparisons. All of which makes choosing one over the other near impossible, without either owning both, or flipping a coin, or just some odd choice of preference. Overall choice just drops to like choosing a new pet.

USA, Mexico, and Japan make quality guitars and do not use sweatshops to build them like Korea or China. (shun those priques)
You can talk about which are the best production guitars, but I think if you just avoid Korean or Chinese made...you'll be doing a solid.

Which do you like most? Single coil or Humbucker? And do you adjust volume and tone on your guitar more with one or the other?
  • \Manitou\ wrote:

I like 'buckers. I have a hard time getting the sound I want out of singles. But 'buckers can sound crappy too - if they're crappy buckers! But I have Ibanez S1 singles in my Jackson, which I love. But 'buckers require less diddling to sound good. But...but...but...I don't have a Soloist (yet) either.
    Ya need both! :(

Fenders and genuine Gibsons are both way overpriced, albeit quality, git'rs. What's the best deal on the best second-tier or no-name git'r out there? Everyone should have an opinion on this!!!

Always thought thar was a decent deal on a LP even if it is a Epi.

Megadeth or Metallica?

If I HAD to choose? Air Supply.

Celine Dion or Barbara Streisand?

    Early Metallica.

    Celine

Holden or Ford? (hehehehe unless you know the Australian V8 racing scene you wouldn't know of the extreme rivalry that goes on between those two brands)
