You have once again proven my point. I point out FACTS, you continue with your rhetoric. You are so delusional that you think everyone is conspiring to make you look bad.
Trust me, you are doing that all by yourself.
Guitar Logic is a completely different board than this one. Your comparison of a privately run board to a support board run by a business, once again proves that you just don't get it.
I hope everyone DOES read my post regarding Paul McCartney calling any President or ex-President illiterate.

I agree with ednrg in the above statement... and I share the sentiments over McCartney and for any foreigner believing he has any right to come over here and make any political statement in front of our Nation....let alone this whole nonsense was funded by the taxpayer. Absolutely no class from him or Obama.
Made me almost as ill over Oblamo's reach around sax with that POS Meth-ican President.
I don't agree with ednrg's decision to dredge up his particular beef with Rawb in this thread, which started this whole hissy fit.
..and his continual trying to \"prove\" anything is just as lame. IMHO

Why we have to try to read between the lines??? Exactly what is your point?? Plain english .. you can do it .. come on!

Fact is Ed won't say what it is she is trying to say... Deleted and edited quotes won't give an accurate account.. But go ahead choose a side may be a bit easier to choose, if we knew why Mr. Ed is bringing this up..

...Perhaps with people discovering now, what a gem the gnx series is/was.. A few more question seekers may actually stick around and be active participants (another lame thought? Or wishful thinking?).
Well that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
What's yours? Got one?
Got my GNX4 in 2006 and found my way to this board later in the year. It was the first real multi-function board I ever owned. My brohter-in-law had bought a GNX3 in 2004-2005 time frame, and I was saving up money to buy one when I got a good deal (at the time) on the GNX4.
At first I was overwhelmed by all the features of the GNX4 and I had a hard time learning how to use the pedal. But I got Anderton's book, walked through the chapters, and learned the GNX4 that way. As I have said before, if I had previous experience with boards similiar to the GNX4, maybe I would not have used, or praised, Anderton's book as much. But for me, it made all the difference in the world.
I was able to get PTP up and running on an old Dell laptop that I was not using anymore. I started recording both on the GNX4 and in PTP. I got involved in midi backing tracks and built up a good collection of songs to play along with. I started playing guitar more and more because I was having so much fun just by myself.
Eventually, I started playing out at open mic nights and sitting in on jam sessions with other musicians. First night I showed up for the jam session, I was just one of six guys with a guitar. Nobody played bass. So I decided then and there to switch to bass guitar. One thing lead to another, got in a band that performed in public only once before we broke up, but found myself in another band shortly thereafter and have been gigging for about 3 years now.
Over the years on this forum, I've asked about every question that has popped into my head about guitar playing and the music business. You guys here have been great with offering up your experience, suggestions, and opinions. It's been a long time since I asked a real question concerning the GNX4 itself.
I have long since stopped recording on my GNX4 or PTP. I bought a Zoom HD16CD multi-track recorder for recording my band's gigs and that came with Cubase LE4, which is more powerful than PTP and supports VST's, which I use all the time. These days, my GNX4 is little more than my stage bass pedal, but that's OK. It still sounds great.
With the money I have made from gigging, I have upgraded almost all of my music gear. I don't even use the GNX4 for playing along with backing tracks anymore because I now can just playback a recorded gig on my Zoom HD16, muting my bass track, and play along with our band like I was on stage with the boys. I also have purchased a portable Tascam DR-07 recorder which allows me to loop, change pitch, and change tempo as needed. So that has become my main practice recorder for learning new songs.
Things really have changed for me since I bought my GNX4. But I can honestly say that it was the GNX4 that made playing guitar fun again, and that lead me to better and better things with my music. Even though the GNX4 is long in the tooth these days, I don't plan on replacing it unless Digitech or someone else comes out with a GNX5 model concept.
My only complaint about the whole GNX4 concept is that Digitech never opened up the tech to those smart guys that could have supported the unit with additional after market upgrades, mods, and software. Also, despite the many posts on suggestions and recommendations on improvements for a GNX5, I never felt Digitech cared about those of us who bought the workstations or our opinions on their product. Maybe I'm just sour because Digitech dropped the workstation concept. I still think the GNX4 had more life to give if updated, and certainly a new GNX5 could have generated alot of buzz. As it is, the GNX4 is still the best purchase I have ever made for my personal growth as a musician, and I got my money's worth out of it many years ago. It's all bonus time now.
Iliace .. I don't have to ask if your affiliation with guitar logic an Ednrg being a regular there, won't influence your judgement.. Do I?
Don't drag me into this. Guitarlogic is a completely different board with completely different rules. This is the case with any Internet forum. I'm surprised I have to point this out, even.

I think that's many people's experience. I, for one, had very little experience with amp modeling, or digital recording, before I got a GNX. Now I'm all over it, and GNX is to blame It really was learning the pedal that made me brave enough to explore MIDI, buy a digital recorder, start using DAW software, and spending $20,000+ on various equipment over the years...

At $500, the GNX4 was the most expensive single piece of music gear I had ever bought at the time. Little did I know that it was going to be just the start of more and more equipment purchases. I probably have over $500 in stage cables alone. Mics, PA systems, speakers, amps, guitars, multi-track recorders, DAW software and computers, repairs, etc... it all adds up. Fortunately, for me, my gigging money has supported my music \"hobby\" and I keep expenses within my gig income. So it's been a good run for me. And it all really started with that GNX4.
