In the begining

I first came here in '05. As like everyone else had a question or two. There was 100 experts (a handful rose to the top) a 1000 answer seekers and even Craig Anderton himself (even if he was getting paid).

I never could get the computer side of the gnx to work (even with all the experts) So it went into the closet. Got emersed in pure tube amp tone. Then late 06 broke out the gnx again. Said to myself .. AW! Why did I put this away? Oh ya I remember.... Showed back up here early 07 .. After some help from the resident experts that still stuck/stick around here, I finally got Xedit and ptp to work..

Ignored the fact it is just a puppet forum for the elite few at guitarlogic.org
Oh well if digitech wants to let the internet thugs run their forums .. who am I to argue?

    I started posting on the original GNX forum after several years of using GNX pedals, because I went through quite a learning curve myself and wanted to share what I had learned - about GNX, and sound production in general. This happened just before this board started.

    When Alberto resigned as a moderator, he recommended me to Connie, and I accepted the position.

    The whole time (in fact, pretty much since 2003 going forward) I've been using GNX pedals almost exclusively, for just about everything. I currently use a GNX3000.

    Not much of a story, huh.... :oops:

    Hm. Well...
    I got a GNX3 in spring '04, after seeing a guy do an amazing solo act featuring lots of looping.
    I, like rawb, couldn't get the GNX to play nice with the puter - I still think MIDI stands for some sort of medical term - so I soon upgraded to a GNX4, which uses USB, which I seem to be able to manage.
    I never did get USB recording to work, though I liked the hands-free thing.
    But I still have my '4, and value it like no other piece of gear (after my planks, of course).
    I will credit the GNX with stoking my interest in playing after many years of dormancy. I still think it's the bee's knee's and no matter what other gear I might try, I'm sure I'll hold on to my '4. Luv it. 8)

    As for my presence here on the forum - I rarely ask questions, 'cuz I'm so gol-durn smart :roll: I usually figure out stuff myself...but I try to contribute to other's dilemma's with a minimum of sarcasm (excpet for noob gloms who don't even know what their manual looks like... :? ...those get it with both barrels). But I really enjoy it here and find the discourse interesting, and especially love sharing tunes with each other.
    Even if none of these dirtbags has fixed me up with Shania yet. :P

    I started here in Sept. 2005 :shock: Man time fly's! I've been pretty much around the whole time. I used my GNX4 for about everything! As Iliace once said it is the Swiss Army Knife for the guitarist 8) I still agree with that & could not deal without mine! For live use I do not use it nowadays. I use a Mesa 5:50 miced up with a few stoms in front of it. dats about it that's my sound that's the tone response dynamics I was looking for & have found! As well mainly an AM Deluxe FMT Start playing thru dat 8) I'm happy to be alive every Thursday rehersal & Sunday Live Worship at Church. I still check in daily round here & try to contribute some. That's my story :D All yeah I'm a supper models user got them right away loved them used them got all the updates etc.. Not so much now since I boogie Live 8) :D

    Ah the good old days..New exciting product. Packed full of features, (Some of which I still don't know). Pumri..remember him...LOL..

    Bert, AC, CB, Drew, Dr Galactic Floss, 300M, and many many more..

    I have to give it to digitech to keep this board up for this obsolete product. (C'mon guys..You've had years to upgrade..Let's see it!!!)

    This old board's kind of dead these days, but all digitech would have to do is put a NEW GNX5, and it would liven right up..

    C'mon digitech..Give AxeFx a run for their money..

    Well Sept 2005 is when I sighned on. Seems alot of us did the 05 thing. LOL
    I had not played for years because my 64 Jazzmaster was in need of repair and a Guild SD60 was also down. Christmas of 04 I gave myself a present of a Squire Strat. Wow to be back playing again was so cool. At that time I was still using an old Digitech GSP5 rack unit for fx, which still works pretty good. Then one day while searching the web for stuff on the GSP5 I saw a video of Billy Clements (I think thats right) doing a demo for a GNX3. I had to have one. I thought, do bass parts rhythm parts, lead parts, record it all, how sweet. I logged in as a user and heard what GNX Jammer did and new I had to start getting a bit better at this recording thing. So a few guitars, and a bunch of sofrware latter hear I am, still a member at the good old Guitar Worstation forum. There use to be a lot more action, with the GNX 1,2,3 and 4 guys hanging out. But I think lot's of users felt that Digitech just kept pumping out the next new thing and left the people that bought the GNX machines to hang out to dry. Not much to talk about in further development of the units that were out there. Onces released it was on to the next version. I feel folks really wanted them to develope the units that were out there further, instead of being cool for a year and thats it. Still love my GNX3 though, but if stollen I would not try to replace it with another because of the bad move with the not so smart card.

    So, when you start dolling out those apologies that you stated the people have left, I'm still here. I don't hold a grudge, but I keep the email to remind me of past events.
