What sorta music does everyone listen to?
Heya all, just thought id see what sorta music everyone is into, might come in handy later on for swapping presets with others who share similar genres. Im a metalhead myself, thrash, power, doom, death, black, viking... you name it i listen to it, except for nu-metal. Im also into my glam and old skool rock like zeppelin, deep purple, judas priest, sabbath.
So what is it you guys like?

Other than that, the old stand-by's for someone my age...ranging from Queensryche to Megadeth to Aerosmith and Van Halen.
NEXT!
My musical interest is for a big part Bob Dylan....lol...not the greatest guitar player I know, but I love his magical lyrics. Own ~ 40 cd's of Dylan and never get bored with him.
More guitar related I listen to Smashing Pumpkins / Billy Corgan, Radiohead, Nightwish, Ayreon, Narnia, The Violet Burning, The Rock n Roll Worship Circus, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, CSN&Y.
I play in a band where we cover some Led Zepplin, Hendrix, Radiohead, Morisette, GnR, Rhcp.
Own an Ibanez RG350 and a LP clone (and a western and spanish acoustic), gnx4, Behringer truth b2031a monitors.

How could I forget to add Dreamtheater to my fav bandlist?
/edit
I heard only two Nightwish albums, but they didn't sound bad. I like their version of Phantom of the Opera (although that surely is kitsch).
-i like dream theatre...as the most complete (ideal ) band on the market although they're not my prefered
-inflames rules...their rythms and harmonies r very well applied in their songs
-cemetary-crematory-some of maiden-some of talica's-death -cob(children of bodom)
-anathema-barely nighjtwish-tot(theatre of tragedy)-tiamat- trails of tear... r the most interesting bands in the goth section
-yingwie: very prodigious man, although some pple may say otherwise- michel-angelo.some of vai's (especially for the love of god: pure feelings)- rare satriani(crystal planet is a very good song)
-the best band in my opinion is ICED EARTH, coz they r pure heavy metal, not influenced by ne modern stuff, very VERY creative, and very good triplets insertion in their rythms.... 8)
coz if u take inflames for ex, it's true that they changed their style, but still the roots where preserved in their newer albums, like the colony album for ex.... in other terms... every band will have to evolve in order to reserve a place for itself in the market...but still, u can't compare inflames, or crematory, even newer ones with bands like korn or limp bizkit or linkin park or i dunno what....
dat's y i never got the pinball map album and probably never will....
u know aRcTuRuS, as i said b-fore a band will have to \"go with the flow\" eventually, still,we, we cannot dislike a band and all it's previous records, if we disliked the genre it turned into....
and there r tons of ex ican post
-the talica's were a very good heaby band with ride the lightning, and justice for all albums etc till they reached their peak in the blabk album, after that they've gone commercial......
-sepultura used to play speedy/brutal death...with the arise, beneath the remains albums, as it that their talent was not attiring much metalheads, they turned into thrash with chaos ad and especially the roots album, witch btw hit the jackpot...
-even my favorite band, iced earth, had been recording some great albums, especially the days of purgatory album, but after the release of the horror show album, the band began to \"go with the flow\", when finally they released the great burden album,,,
-for instance i dt like the new metallica's but i still love the old metallica
-i hate the old sepultura andthe very new sepultura, but i love the \"in-between sep\"
-and i adore the iced earth, although i hate their new album
so, it's not ne- particular bands that i hate, it's the part8icular music genre, it just happenned that the above mentioned bands, i.e korn and linkin park, dt play ne kinda metal except the new ones...
it's sorta aristotle deductive thinkin:
i hate nu- metal
korn doesn't play ne thing but nu-metal
therefore i hate nu metal.....
dam i think i've gone mad!

Anyways, I've got an Epi Les Paul, GNX3, run it through a Peavey Revolution. Fairly pleased, but always looking for \"that sound.\"
Queens of the Stone Age are one of my all-time favs. I love the dirty sound of Josh Hommes overdriven Ampeg. But alas, I can't seem to dial it in. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I'm a child of the \"grunge\" explosion...other than QOTSA, I'm into Radiohead, Tool, deftones, SOAD, melvins, AIC, zeppelin, neil young, sabbath blah blah. A couple of newer bands I really like: 'These Arms are Snakes' and 'Bear vs Shark'
Anywho - any help with the Queens of the Stone Age tone would be great.
And I dont recall too many guitar harmonies in Korns music....
But yeah, both singers are sporting dreadlocks. And so is Brian Fair from Shadow's Fall, and so did Bob Marley, and Eddie Grant, and many more I'm sure. I dont know what this has to do with anything.
I've seen both In Flames and Korn live. They are two completely different bands in my opinion. I've seen videos by both. Different. I've heard albums by both. Different.
But hey thats my opinion.
But then i will go and listen to some great blues by SRV or Clapton, or listen to some classic rock - Hendrix, Stones, Van Halen or Kiss.
Variety is the spice of life.
at least dat's y i think ur doin...right?
In Flames is a fantastic band in my opinion. With an original sound. Even the vocals stand out in a normally hard to get noticed genre.
Pinball Map is on \"Clayman\". Oneof their best albums in my opinion.
I've seen them 3-4 times now. Cant remember exactly....
talking bout harmonics

But to answer the thread question, I listen to just about everything. I have one of those satellite radios. Just yesterday I was listening to some big band swing from the 40's.....Talk about melody!
lately ive been trying to branch out by getting into SRV, GILBERT, MORSE, TRANS SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, KOTZEN. i still love EXTREME, and think 3 SIDES was one of the best albums ever. QUEEN, VH, etc, are all great.
funnily enough, im also into MOZART and JOHN DENVER.
