sup guys. i have an RP250 and its beast. theres only one thing im not sure of... im trying to make an effect that uses a pitch-changing effect or something, but i dont want to hear the real note at all. so you can make D chord sound like a C chord and stuff. its basically like tuning all the strings down or up but without all the trouble. i cant figure out how to do it tho, because since the mix only goes to 99 you can still hear the real note your playing in the background and that can make an ugly harmonic thing. can someone help?
I recently picked up an RP155, primarily for the looper feature, since I don't have the bux for a real one (eg JamMan) right now.
Initial impressions:
FX are very good.
Amp/Cab modeling not very good, especially in OD/Distor'n situations.
Looper is very good, but seems to alter volume levels of what you put in the loop.
And the dam thing didn't come with Shania's cell phone # either. :?
I was considering a RP1000 and I went to Guitar Center to check it out. I was stumbling around with it, but soon realized that almost every patch had the same basic sound to it. I asked a salesman for help, but he was about as lost as I was and agreed that they all sounded the same. I just figured it was just due to me not having a clue on how to really get some great sounds out of this thing.
So, I went to the user patch section, and checked a few sound clips of their patches ( http://www.digitech.com/soundcomm/guitar_list_patches.asp?productid=240 ) and THEY ALL SOUNDED THE SAME with minor variations. I'm a bit confused, because I have created some patches on my GNX3 that sound WAY better than any patch on there, or anything I was able to get out of the RP1000.
Is this just how this thing sounds or is everyone as clueless as me trying to get good sounds out of it?

I think it's all about how well you are at working with the matrix. I've gotten some great sounds out of my GNX4, which of course has much better controls and capabilities than an RP155.
But yeah...the 155's patches all sound pretty much the same to me. I plan to spend some time building a few good patches, but there's no way I could make 100 (it's capacity) good patches, given what there is to work with. Unless there was an online forum for posting patches, or if g did S/M's for it...
Just reading about your expression pedal settings on this thread. I am having great difficulty in setting these up, the manual leaves out so much actual proceedure info where I need it most.
I assume I need to set and save the channel (eg rectifier) with an effect (eg flange) first and then configure the expression pedal parameters afterwards and save these ? I've tried setting wah, flange, chorus and volume to various basic tones but none seem to register and save on the expression pedal to give me control. Could you please give me some advice.
By the way, I'm trying to make these settings on the pedal itself as I have no idea how to use it linked to my PC.

Thanks - see my RP350 Help thread below too
