Mangling The Classics #26

So, here another one for you to sit through…
Once again, though I'm without access to any of my studio or gear, I had the opportunity to grab someone's mobile recorder for ten minutes and throw a song on it…so - I did this one. A great tune by Young Neil, made famous by Annie Lennox. I really like playing this song, as it's one of the few I do that uses one of those bizarro alternate tunings. As before: done in one take, with no opportunity to mix or use any studio enhancement whatsoever…so it's probably a little raw…hope ya like it anyway!

  • Nice Shredd! Good to hear something new from you quickly thrown together or not. Hope all is well bro. Take care :D
  • Nicely done. Just the guitar and voice, that takes courage. Today I was asked if I sing in my band. To which I replied, yes, I sing three songs, but I have a voice that sounds best with 1500 watts of screaming guitars and drums playing along at the same time. That got a laugh, but the reality is, it's true....
  • Shred,
Nice to hear something from you. The open mic nights seem to be helping you with your performances. The songs you are choosing are matching better to your vocal abilities, and your performances are coming thru sounding much more relaxed. Good job!

Thanx TAS...it's true, the open mic habit definitely benefited me in terms of putting on miles, getting confident and choosing songs that I can do.
That said - I've been very lax on it lately; after doing it weekly all winter and most of the summer, I haven't been in a month, and am playing very little at home. Need to pick it up...
