I just went and checked and I think you could be right on that one.
Maybe I'm missing something too but I could only open one at a time also.
Does anyone here have contact with the developers Ryan Clifford or Josh Kapp? Just wondering if we can get this missing \"feature\" confirmed before zzzang and I go out of our heads ...
The new edit-copy-paste functionality in the librarian is probably just as good as drag & drop, and a big improvement in allowing you to reorganize your user patches.
The big negative, in my opinion, is the one-at-a-time limitation, which makes it difficult to A-B different patches and changes without first saving them to the machine. Guess I got spoiled by this in the old version.
But I did have a problem with the old one locking up frequently, and v2.3 has been completely stable for me so far. Big plus!
Yea, i wonder why they changed the functionality to only allow one patch to open at a time. It was a nice feature that i actually used a lot to compare between patches.
Has anyone tried running 2 instances of Xedit? Don't know if it works. I'll try it when i get home tonight.
I had X-Edit 1.3 and 2.2 on XP. That messes up 2.2 for some reason: I kept getting a \"Number either too large or too small to be an Int32\" exception. But, Digitech does include a \"report this error to Digitech\" option in X-Edit 2.2 (much like Windows Error Reports), so now they've heard about it.
Anyone else had trouble with ASIO drivers in Vista??
I had Sonar working fine with GNX3000 then i installed X-Edit 2.3 and it worked fine on its own ...but then i went back to Sonar to run the two programs simultaeously and ASIO was broken ??
So now it seems ASIO wont work at all... ??
Should i re-install drivers off my original X-edit disc ??
I have downloaded 2.3 but haven't tried to install it .
I would like to thank everyone for convincing me not
to fix what aint broken which in a nutshell means I
probably wont try to install it. This all reminds me
of the days of DOS and Win 3.1. I'll stay with X-edit 1.3,
Studioware and System Exclusive. Going through all
those install headaches once, was enough.

Have you tried ASIO4all? I've been using it for years and it's very stable. Should work fine for you.
I have the GNX3000 and I've been testing X-Edit 2.3.0.6 today. Seems really nice but I'd really be a happy camper if I had the GNX3000 firmware update for full functionality.
Seems to be quite stable so far but I did notice that if I minimize X-Edit, I have the following error message: \"Unhandled Exception - Value was either too large or too small for an Int32. X-Edit will close. Would you like to report this problem to DigiTech?\" A bit disconcerting.
Also, when I load a preset that was saved to disk, the preset gets loaded into X-Edit fine, but the GNX3000s' screen shows the previous patch and the patch is not loaded into the hardware. If I click anywhere on the X-Edit GUI, the progress bar starts and the patch is finally loaded into the GNX3000.
I hope the firmware revision shows up soon. I'd really like to be rid of the flakey bits and have drag-n-drop functionality.
Anyway, thanks DigiTech for taking the next step with my favorite GAW! 8)
I had this problem too, under XP. I think it had to do with a previous version of X-Edit being installed. Once I uninstalled both and reinstalled the new one, problem went away.
Gee I've tried everything and can't get ASIO to work !! I've done multiple installs of everything including ASIO4ALL and even that doesn't work !
Anyone got any ideas ? I'm running Vista (obviously) with Sonar 5 And GNX3000
When i relented and installed asio4all the program actually looked like it was trying to play something ... but no sound could heard from any outputs ? (i checked all various jacks and output options)
Totally frustrating now, as sonar seems not to be recognising the GNX midi as well ??
To recognize MIDI in Sonar, you need to (1) be able to see it under your MIDI devices in Device Manager or Vista equivalent, and (2) select the MIDI drivers in Sonar under MIDI Setup or MIDI devices - I forget the exact name, but it's in the Options menu.
For ASIO - if I understand Vista's audio features correctly - it will not work. I could be wrong, but as far as I know, Vista moves all audio and video to the kernel, which effectively renders things like ASIO useless. This is speaking from zero experience, so if anyone can confirm or provide alternate solution, please do.

IINM - only the latest beta version of ASIO4all will run in Vista.
Thanks Iliace, Yes i can see the GNX Midi in the pick list in the Sonar Audio options, but when i select them ... i still get the message \"you have not selected any midi devices\"... which is really strange ?
Thanks Fetter, I believe i have the latest ASIO4ALL build, as it was emailed to me by digitech support...(which kinda suggest that they don't have a solution ??) i'll check the site for an update.
I'm begining to the Sonar must be corrupted in some way.?
Thanks guys for your feedback. I'll now go and spend countless hours re- installing everything ... lol
Ahhh yup yup yup..... just did a complete un-install of all audio plug-ins + Sonar 5 PE and re-installed all successfully and STILL can't get midi... I can see it in the pick list but it won't activate ??

I've never been able to get the DigiTech ASIO drivers to work with Tracktion (any version, any system).
Last night updated xEdit2 on my PC. Before I uninstaled Xedit1.3, I made a \"mantention\" running Ccleaner, Manually I deleted the \"Digitech\" directory on C:\\program files\\digitech and then I instaled the drives from CD (only drivers) and finally I instaled xEdit2, and..... Run Perfect!!
About \"drop and drug\", nothing. Its sad and frustrating.
I tried this exactly as you've described. I even went and downed Ccleaner but still same problems as indicated earlier.
I'm wondering if the audio driver was never uninstalled because the system, Acid and Sonar were all \"connected\" and using the GNX3000 audio driver?
EDIT: Just a heads up for others. I used Ccleaner - nice little free application for system clean up. Problem is, it cleaned out all my cookies at many (all) sites where I had logins for forums (like this one) and product updates!! Rather a pain to get these all back online!! Although almost free, I would recommend a less aggressive product like RegCure.
If your having problems with Sonar and GNX3k, you might try setting the
driver mode in Sonar to MME32 bit and the GNX3k to WDM. This is what I had to do to get it to run on my Dell laptop. I will add that this is Sonar 6 running on XP.
Can you tell me how to switch the GNX3K over to WDM please?
Also I am currently running Sonar 5 on MME32 as ASIO won't work in Vista... When i tried WDM in Sonar it was terrible ! but i didn't realize i could change the GNX over to WDM.?
I'll try anything at this point...
Thanks.
P.S. I think i'm just gonna wipe everything and buy an XP installation disk and start again.
Before you turn on the GNX, press and hold the MODE button. Next, power on the GNX. You will be presented with the audio mode, and the data wheel will change it.
It sounds like your wdm drivers maynot be loaded or are disabled. Go to control panel, and click on sound & audio devices. Click on hardware. You should see (sound card name AUDIO CODECS), click on it. Click on properties, at the bottom make sure in device usage it shows, use this device enable is selected. back at the top click on the second properties tab. Click on midi devices and instruments to expand it. You should see wdm based devices. click on it and then click on the properties tab. Make sure use midi features on this device is checked. If it says not loaded or disabled, there should be a tab that says reload driver. Click it and ok your way back through any windows that are open. Close all your windows and open sonar, you should see this in the midi options.
If not go into options, audio and make sure your sound card is selected in sonar. Close it and reopen it. IF that doesn't do it I'm blank.

For the most part, X-Edit 2.3 is working OK for me!
Only one issue that I have not been able to sort out. When I load a factory preset, X-Edit runs perfectly. However, if I load a preset from my hard drive, the preset doesn't load until it click anywhere on the X-Edit GUI.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
I noticed something else related that seems odd. If I navigate to another directory on the hard drive, the first preset loads fine and the second preset I load brings up the setup screen along with the X-Edit GUI and doesn't load. From then on I must click the GUI to get the preset tom load.
Does this behavior suggest anything that I may have overlooked or set incorrectly?
I just installed X-Edit 2.3 to use with VISTA Home Premium. During the start-up sequence, where the software attempts to identify compatible hardware (I have the GNX4), my computer crashes. A blue screen appears with notifications of hardware and or software incompatibility. Any help is appreciated.

Did you read the instructions from others who did get it to work? If not, come on man.... seriously... you're not the first to experience this problem, not by any stretch of imagination.

Thanks man. Hmmm ... Hodge from Western Mass ... you don't hang out in the Berkshires, do you?
Fries with that, bud ??
Read the thread first. There's some issues you might want to review.
