3 Gary Moore The Loner

5 Randomly pick anything by Ritchie Blackmore.
Of course, this is what I pick at the moment. My attention span isn't good enough to pick an all-time best.
Right now I'm on a Andy Timmon's kik...

First one that comes to mind, That pop song, \"Maniac\" (michael Sembello), has (IMHO) a great little guitar solo that I will always remember.
#2, \"Dyin' Flu\" by Duke Robillard (from the CD, Duke's Blues) - a guitar clinic in one song (again IMHO). This one will always be in my top ten, I think.
#3 - #5, pick any three tunes from Les Paul and Chet Atkins; \"Guitar Monsters\" CD - This was once two different vinyl albums and they put them together on one CD - a life's worth of study, licks you can pick up from this CD are applicable to all genres.
rgds and Happy New Year,

Stevie Ray Texas Flood off the \"Live at the El Mocambo\" dvd

I agree with everyone that stated they would have liked to have picked more than 5, if you want to put down 20 that's cool or even 50-100!!!!

awww...there is no way I can choose
what albums do you recommend for a timmons rookie?
But does anyone ever listen to Max Webster/Kim Mitchell solo work? He rocks, has a great style, and learned to play from Satriani. Good stuff.
And to be generally obscure...the Robbie Blount solo in Robert Plant's song \"Like I've Never Been Gone\"....
I am also a Rush fan, but I can't name one solo from them that belongs in this thread. Please don't say YYZ.
Hmm...perhaps he doesn't belong amongst the masters, but he sure can shredd. Trivia: he's self-taught.
Lots of kewl solos tho...he's got a nice touch. The short one from \"A Farewell To Kings\" is one of those slow, trippy, lotsa-feel 'Gilmour-esque' ones. I like how he has a lot of different sounds/feels/styles. Very versatile and imaginitive. I guess I'd name him on his collective works, not one particular solo...
And Lifeson is way up there for me and could easily be the one to replace David Gilmour. Limelight anyone? The end of Xanadu on Exit... There are so many outstanding notes that he has played. La Villa!
If There Can Be Only ONE....anything Saintriani...
...I'm just sayin'.. :P
Iommi in IRON MAN
SRV- Shake For me
Tito And Tarantula- After Dark Solo
The fella from Ocean Colour Scene had some tasty solos
Dimebag had some great Solos aswell
Of course Lifeson is excellent...How about Limelight.
No One has put Jeff Beck up here...Led Boots...Freeway Jam
and almost every note played by Steve Morse.
This list is endless....I would say from Gilmour that Time is my favorite Floys solo.
Next poll...what is your favorite bouzuki solo?
