I made an edit to the caption and noted the Blues Hawk. Its a shame they've discontinued production. BB King loves that guitar. It was the lowest selling price hollow body Gibson. The rotator switch gives a great selection of tones.
I would have loved to get that guitar. Now I've got to wait for the used market and Tal's gonna laugh at me.
Here's mine...Takamine acoustic/elec, original Steinberger, some \"no-name\" clear lucite thing someone left at my house forever (they moved away and said-\"keep it\"), 1969 Gibson Les Paul STD (everything on it changed B/4 I bought it...the thinking was-\"these newer Gibsons will never increase in value the way the 50's ones did\"!), Fender Jazz Bass, Charvel that I got for $100.00 and set up for slide (its got a block of wood (!) slipped under the bridge to stop the \"floating\" action, .....and various pedals thru the ages.
DOH!...yeah, Jazz Bass....while I was typing that I was thinking about the cream colored Precision I played last year while filling in for our Bass Plyr during back surgery...wierd

I've never seen one of those gibson s1
what's your fav?
The Gibson S1 was only made between 1976 and 1980. Ron Wood had endorsed it.
It is an unusual guitar and it did not sell very well. It was gibsons attempt at a single coil strat sound. The Pickups are designed by Bill Lawrence. It has a selector switch that allows you to use one, two or all three single coils P/U. It has a bit more bite than a strat. It has a very bluesy sound.
Got it this past father's day.
My favorites right now are my PRS and the strat. I kinda go back and forth between them.
The Ibanez LP is not bad for a copy either.
Whoa, right click & resize those pics to a managable 800x600 or so....NICE collection.....I'm shopping for a PRS custom 24 right now
Really. My browser is confused.
So, if you're after a PRS - and you have more bux than I do - talk to AC. He has a really nice PRS I desperately want, but he hasn't decided to sell yet. And if he wants more bux than I have, it might be the ax for you. And you live a lot closer to him than I do...
<div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>Sorry for the extreeeeeeemly LARGE PIC!! shock
I had a hard time just getting the pic in there in the first place. Then when I realized how large it was, I couldn't figure out how to edit it!!! oops
At least you can get a look at every scratch on each guitar in my collection! roll
Cobaltblooz, I love my PRS. Have you tried one yet? Not everyone likes them, and I have tried other ones and did not like the feel. The neck comes in different styles.
If my wife wouldn't shoot me for buying another guitar, I would buy another one....and another strat.....and a Gibson LP.... .. .., ...well you get the point.
Yeah, played like butter! ....I've got my eye on orangey flame looking one--a finish I have never seen anywhere...it looks like your looking into a campfire....theres also a 1995 blonde Santana I like alot....hope to have the rest of the cash in a couple months
Here's a pic of my stuff. That's an Ibanez RoadStar 570 that I bought back when I was like 15 or 16...about 1990 or so. Minus a few love dings it still looks brand new. The Crate is a 120W Limited Edition Combo with 2 12\" speakers bought in the same year. I can't remember the model name for it though. It's a solid state. I've also got a CryBaby Wah and a DOD Hard Rock Distortion pedal. I recently bought a slightly used GNX4 off of eBay and should be here Friday. Looking forward to playing around with it.
Once I went off to college I had less and less time to play and eventually stopped playing altogether. But just a few weeks ago a friend at work and I were talking about music. He's picked up his old guitar and started playing and jamming with friends and invited me along with my guitar. So, lately we've been jamming and having a great time. I've become addicted to it once again.
I've been buying some books and a couple of videos to help get me deeper in music theory. By the way, Doug Doppler's video on Diatonic Theory is awesome! Up 'til now I've just had a basic understanding of music while playing songs I liked by ear. So now I'm trying to get deeper with it and really enjoy this guitar like I've wanted to for so long.
At any rate, here's my setup minus the pedals and computer. The knobs are missing on the guitar in this pic, but were getting repainted black at the time. I've since put them back on the guitar. If you click on the image below it'll give you a larger picture of it.
courtney,
Nice Ibanez!! Looks alot like my RG470. Now I play a JS100BP. I liked my RG for starter guitar it was a dream to learn & get better on. But my JS is just all around AWSOME!! it's a joy to play wish I could play more!! Anyhow welcome!! You'll love your GNX4!! It will help you to grow & get better in all aspects!! This forum as well is just an awsome community you will also learn lots by hanging around hear!!
I bought that guitar back when I was like 15 or 16. I saved up all summer to buy it and it wiped me out. I had to wait another summer to buy an amp. I bought some kind of mini stack, no-name brand. I thought it sounded awesome, but if I were to hear it now it would most likely sound like crap. But I love my guitar. It's got great sound. Thought about changing the pickups in it. What I'd like to get is a new Ibanez Prestige.
I recently \"upgraded\" to a Jackson Performer SSH, which I really dig. I locked the F/Rose (not into trem) and tuned it all up, it's a nice rig now. Somewhere between a starter ax and a realllly nice rig like a Dinky or PRS or JS1000. Anyone givin' one of THOSE away?!?!
I also really like my Dean ac/el - very tasty - and I have a low-end Ibanez bass which is suprisingly nice....
Oh yeah. I have a GNX4. 8)
Congratulations on the purchase, Shredd. You should have made me an offer for the PRS. I'm back to loving it again.
GRF. I was hoping you were hating it and using it for a doorstop, so I could take it off your hands for a \"song\". Someone else's, of course. I still lust for that thing, and I'd take it off your hands in a heartbeat if I could!!! You sure you won't trade it for my rollerblades???

<div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>I will give up my precious box set of Yoko Ono's greatest hits and a truck load of butterfingers. Heck I will even throw in some Reeces peanut butter cups.

Just found this Inter-Mark CIPHER Japanese made 60's-70's but those 4 \"pickups\" are actually microphones. Even the slider switches say Mic M, Mic 1, Mic 4, Mic 1&4, Mic 2&3, Mic O. Very little is on the web but a couple of pictures and one selling for $350 - I paid $45 for mine. It opens up many tones no matter what the rig. Amazing :!: http://www.blackguitars.com/cipher.htm shows a 3 microphone white CIPHER
