Abide In Me Final

Hey All,
Thanks for your patience!! & all your suggestions!! I've grown so much thru this project. My first Original. I know so much more now about Recording & Mixing!! Again thanks. This has a totaly new mix. All Instuments were dropped about 3dB. Vocals were completely done over, realy concentrating on unciation. I tried very hard to make my voice be heard and heard understandably. I even added some ambiance to the overall mix. For anyone that still has trouble understanding the words. I posted the Lyrics in the last thread AIM2 Remix. Honestly guys comments criticisim all welcome. I'm very happy with this now!! What do you all think??

God Bless All!!!
& thanks for your feedback!!

  • Partch - I can clearly hear just about every word. As far as that goes this is better than the average radio tune in terms of being able to understand lyrics. For a first song, first mixing project, you've done fine. It's good to always remember when you sing songs of praise, by the time it reaches the Lord's ears, it sounds perfect. At least that's what I always told myself in choir when the guy next to me was off key. :D Really, you've done a fine job with this. I think it is worthy of presenting to your congregation if it can be worked into a Sunday service, maybe for the offering.

    God Bless You Partch,

    Phil
  • Indeed if this is your first song you've produced I agree you've done a good job.

    Some advice though.
I think you should transpose it a couple of keys lower, your singing outside your vocal range and I think you'd sound much better if it was a bit lower. As it is now it sounds your struggling to get the higher notes.

I would also layer one or two guitar tracks on it, raise the mids to give it more presence and fullness.

    Keep up the good work!
  • Much better Partch..
Vocals on the mix came out pretty darn good..

    See Ya,

  • phil-Thanks for your words of encouragement!! I know I wrote the song & all But: I think you can understand the words now. Thanks for your suggestions!! I plan on playing this at Worship Team practice Thursday night to get there feedback?? It most likely would be either a prelude or postlude song. Probably postlude??

Fruitloop- I appreciate your honesty!! I also value your opinion. Yes there are a few High spots for me vocally. Maybee some day I will try it in a lower Key. But for now it stays G. My favorite Key by the way.

Tal- Thanks man!! yeah I think this mix turned out pretty darn good!! Vocals & all. I had this playing on my home stereo Bose speakers nice pioneer Surround Amplifier I must say it sounds tons better on a good system!! I was jamming it and just awsome to know WOW that's me!! 4 years ago I could not spell Musician?? Now I is one!! Praise The Lord!!!!!!

    God Bless Fellows!!
and thanks for your patience & endurance on this one!!!

  • ahhh that is much better.
I can under stand the words

    good job partch

now when your reading your bible you may hear songs popping right off the page---roll with em
    god bless bro
  • Wogs,
Hey thanks bro!! Yeah I'm quite pleased with this now. The biggest part of my original isue with the vocals not being hot enough was the routing of the mic signal was wrong. Now it is mic FX and I have all the level etc.. I need so much easier to sing inteligably, and have the lyrics come thru the mix this way!! Hey Paul I have a Praise & Worship song already, Lyrics only at this point. It's called Lord Bring Revival and I have full intentions of this one to be used in worship service. (when its done)

    God Bless!!

  • all right!
I'll be lookin forward to hearing it
    :)
  • The mix was clean enough and I could here the words. My only comment would be to try to tighten up the bass line a little more. Keep going your on the right track.
  • Hi Partch,

Great stuff for a first original :D

    Worth waiting for. Keep'em coming.

  • Hey Shando. Thanks Man!! Yeah it went through several mixes & takes, and I know it's not perfect & all!! But: I'm realy happy with how this all came out!! All yeah I have Lyrics for a Praise & Worship Original. It's called Lord Bring Revival. I don't have music, Key Melody etc.. for it but keep your eyes peeled it will happen in the Lords timming.

    God Bless Shando!!!

  • Much better, but the vocals still sound a touch muffled. Nothing that boosting the treble a very slight amount wouldn't clear up. At the beginning, I'm not sure if you're pulling back from the mic or not, but I can hear volume spikes. Compression could help a little, but it might be more of a mic technique issue.
The song is a pleasure to listen to, so I don't mind the listens. :D I like the key.
  • AC,
I thought you would like this version better!! I mean you can pretty much understand every Word. I will figure this EQ thing out!! I know my vocals need treble. Anyhow thanks for listening to this song & I'm glad you like it!! I've found it to be very catchey the more you listen to it!! I like the Key as well G is my favorite Key to play in!!

    God Bless you AC!!

  • Hey Partch,

Sorry I missed this one, Sounds good to me, I can hear the vocals clearly, you seem to sound more confident also.

    Overall good stuff 8)
  • Hey Slash thanks!! Yeah thats been one of the biggest learning curves for me so far with the recording mixing, getting vocals to stand out and be easy to understand. I think I was pretty much there with this. But I'm learning all the time!! I feel better things are comming!! I just need more practice at this whole thing!! Lots of it!!

    God Bless You!!
