\"Melody for Mimi\"

After buying my strat, I made a recording of a warmup song that I do over a backing. I threw this in Bert's site as a demo for the new guitar, but my wife really likes this, so I titled it for her and uploaded it. I hope you enjoy it.
Man it's been a while since I uploaded any songs here.

  • ACWild,
Wow man Just a warm up?? Just noodeling around?? Pretty darn good for just warming up & messing around!! I can see why your wife likes it!! It's good to hear something from you!! I've seen you around but this is the first music I've seen you post since I've been posting in the music section. I hope to see more from you!! You are obviously a very talented musician!!

    God Bless!!
    Partch
  • Thanks Partch! I used to post music here but the new format threw me off, so I started to upload music at Alberto's site. Now that I figured out how, I'll put some more here too. I've got some catching up to do as far as listening to what the others are uploading. I appreciate you listening. 8)

VERY tasty 'wild. Great sound and it's a really cruisin' jam, which is what I like - can't get into the headbanging thing and I don't have enough talent to play all that sweet jazzy stuff. This is the kinda jam I try to write, and it'd be a great tune to put words to...hint hint...
Nice job. If I could play like that, maybe Marisa Miller would return my phone calls... :?
  • Ha ha, thanks Shredd! I usually don't do instrumentals, but like I said, this is something that I use to warm up. More songs are on the way, but most will have vocals.
I'm tellin' ya, if you want women, you have to move to an area that actually has them. Thanks for listening!

Yeah, I dug it...I even put it in my MP3 folder for more listens. Lookin' forward to more of your stuff.
Yeah, I want a woman all right, but I don't wanna live in NJ to find them. (easy for you to say - you've got a babe, and she digs music too!!!) There's gotta be somewhere else in the world where I can find me a babe...there just isn't one for me here. But now that I've left/leaving my job, perhaps I'll end up in SD hangin' with the tooth and being swarmed by beach babes. :D
  • You've left your job!!! Women seem to be everywhere but where you're at.
I have another song that's currently on the Broadjam Top 10 for New Jersey. The just sent me the e-mail this week. Just go to Broadjam.com, top 10, then hit the region and hit NJ. It's under acwild, of course. I've got a \"fall\" song that's just finished that's sounds like a Blackmore's Night tune. At least that's what I'm told.
Thanks for the kind words! 8)

Yeah, I'm resigning my position when my employers return in December. This means I lose my house too. I'm gonna try to get things settled before then, but I'm having a hard time with it. Lot of apprehension etc. Then I haveta decide if I still have the stomach for this work - rewarding, but demanding. I hope I get as good a job, or land somewhere full of adoring babes...or both, if I'm lucky!:D
Annnyway...loved the top 10 tune...a little heavy for my tastes, but uber-trippy lyrics (whassup with that kid? ) Anyway, if you wanna trade her for my boss's wife (who's hott squared) lemme know.
  • hey nice job acwild.Love the chorus line
and the noodling at the 4 min mark 8)
  • Whoa!....that was F ing awesome....the backing track sounded almost \"Bowie-ish\", and the Guitar has that melodic Satch style to it....then you switch from major to pentatonics and it takes on a completely different feel (nice runs at the 4:00 mark as well)....I didn't see this at the .org site, where did you post it?

Best of luck on the new job, but I think you'll be way happier in the end.
Thanks for checking out the tune. It is one of my heavier ones, but the others usually have a mix of acoustic guitars.
Andrea shocked all of us when she came up with those lyrics. She's usually shy, but I think she really did a great job on the song. It was an unexpected direction, but I think that's what helped it. :D

Hey buddy! Thanks for listening and the comps! :D The backing is called \"Blues in D,\" but it didn't seem as interesting in D, so I went for the melody. I figured that I'll go back to D for the solo as a nod to the original backing. Thanks for noticing. 8)
Ha ha, the way we go OT there, it's no surprise. Where's my OT police smiley? I posted it as a sound sample when I bought my strat, so it's buried in a thread about me buying a new strat. :?:
I'm still waiting to check out your band. You've got to tell me when you guys are playing. 8) Did you ever get a chance to record over my other backing?
  • rockin' solo. love the sound. sounds alot like something i'd play myself! 8) though i haven't been playing that long (about 2 months).

2 months?!? Wow, coincidentally, I just checked out your tune. Sounds like you've been playing longer than that! 8)
  • yeah man. i've been playing the acousitic forever...but i usually mess around w/ chords and whatnot. just picked up the electric this summer! lol. so realisticially...yeah about a few months.

Ha ha, you're in the reverse cycle of me. I'm reverting back to the acoustic. I sort of learned how to record them now.
  • Very very nice 8)

Thanks for checking it out. :D
  • Is this the only tune you posted?.

You need to post some more 8)

I've posted songs here before, but I've been at Alberto's site for a while and started to put songs there. Now that I figured out how to use this site again, I'll be posting them here too. Thanks!
I'm wrapping up a song right now that has a different sound for me. It should be up soon.
  • Dude! very kool. thought it had kinda a slash build up in the solo great stuff lets hear more. ;) 8)

Thanks for listening ODB! I really don't do a lot of instrumentals, but I've heard the Slash and Satch comparisons before. It's funny that I don't hear it that way. My next song is one that I think has a very strong sound of one of my favorite guitarists, but I'm not saying anything else.
  • <div style="displaynone">fiogf49gjkf0d</div>That was great. Very, very nice playing.

I can't wait to hear more of your stuff! lol

Thanks for the compliments! :D More will come soon, but all of my songs are different, so prepare to be surprised, or disappointed.
I enjoyed the heck out of your new tune! Great job! :D
  • ACWild, very nice job! I'm a big fan of noodling  . Great feel to that tune!

Thanks for checking it out.
  • That’s just totally outstanding! It has a powerful feel but yet the guitar seems to tell a story as well, that’s what I call music. I’ll skip the mix review for now; I’m to blown away at this point. Now I do have just one complaint about this song AC. Why the heck Didn’t you send me this along time ago? We need to talk about this one bro.
Definitely one of the best tunes here!
    Awesome job AC!

  • Ha ha, thanks bud! I posted this at Bert's site as a sound demo for my new strat, but I guess it got buried. I honestly never put much thought into it other than a sound demo, which is why the mix is unbalanced. Some of the guys liked it and my wife loves it, so here it is. As always, thanks for listening. 8)
  • This was a fun tune to listen to. I liked the way everthing fit into the mix. I could hear all the parts with no problems. Good post.
  • Hey, thanks for checking it out. 8)
