hi shredd....first one of your tracks that I have listened too. Sounds pretty good to me....pretty laid back....where is the shredding :D:D

    cheers dean
Hey dean - glad you liked the toon. More to come. Check out \"Cost Of Silence\" too, I like that one.
As far as \"shredding\" goes...I\"m not into metal/shredd, I'm not a good enough axshredder to really rip, and I prefer more sonic stuff - I'm the 'foil' to all the headbangers that hang around here, I guess...plus, these guys all have wives and I can't even find a date. Sheesh. Maybe I SHOULD be a metalhead??
  • Shredd said \"But I luv 2 rok, so maybe if I get get a band and gather a crowd, some chix will dig the toons, and I'll have myself a hottie to play with! \"
That's the spirit!!! Herd'em up and brand one
Thanks for the encouragement PG - spoken like a true 'nuck! If only I lived up there...I'd be chasin' 'em around the pub, herdin' 'em up and pickin' out the cream of the brood for breedin'. :D
  • Shredd,if you get a band ,and bunch of tunes together.Make sure the bosses wife is at the gig,she may just see you in a different light. She may stop rid'in your @$$,and may let you smack hers  With Gin anything's possible

Thx - again - for the encouragement, pg! Though with the boss's wife, I think it might be hopeless - she'd never go see a r'n'r gig. You know how gorgeous, rich women can be.
And she'd probably just ride me at work about being up late last night. Whatta wench. Reminds me of the TV show I once saw where this trucker picks up this mouthy b-atch and that night gets her drunk and pokes her butt, and the next day she's meek as a mouse. I oughtta try that, except she'd probably kill me in my sleep.
  • WooHoo!!! Got my new condenser mic today. Once I figure out how to connect it ( ) I'll put my vocals in, then once I figure out a solo that dosen't sound like Rick Springfield, I'll post my new angry \"my nasty boss\" tune. Stand by.
  • This is a really beautiful composition! Sorry dude, but I didn't sense any anger at all. You must be a very happy-go-lucky man. I'm sure you'd much rather be a happy-get-lucky many, but you've got to move first.
Great tune! The rhythm is uplifting and the leads are sad. Nice contrast!
Nothing to make fun of, it's a very enjoyable listen. :D
  • awww man i should watch more adult movies for inspiration! the track is very melodic. i'm contrasting at the moment....thx for the share.

You should just watch more adult movies in general.
  • oh i do...it's just i didn't realize it had music.... :D i'm gonna pay more attention to the music now instead of the *ahem* female cries.

Ha ha, I thought the female cries is music. It is to my ears at least.
  • Hi Shredd,

Nice tune…you did a great job with the mix using the stereo field and separating everything in its own space…the swell patch on the chords sounded real nice along with the lead tone that just sat right in their own spots. So much of my stuff ends up sounding like mud and I give up…Great job!!
    :)

Come on Kirk, your tunes stand out. I loved everything that I heard of yours. 8)

    Hi ACWILD,

There is so much I throw away because it sounds like mud...it usually is because of too many tracks and not separated into their own spaces...I think Shredd has done a great job in putting everything nice and neat in its own space…I think my problem is I record too much stuff in stereo and not enough in mono where you can move instruments around a bit easier…something I need to work on. :):)

You just need to use a graphic eq to give each track it's own space. That and a little panning. I've heard your songs and think you can add more instruments if that's what you want. You create some very cool soundscapes. I can't wait to hear more. 8)

Yeah. What he said. Don't \"they\" say that women don't hate porn, they just hate it when their men hide it from them??
Anyway, I'm glad you like the ditty...I wrote/recorded it on a day where I'd had a pretty melody from a ti++y flick in my head: then my boss's wife abused me and I needed some power-chord therapy. And Voila.

Thanks! I actually did two of these - the \"power-chord therapy\" version, then one that actually had been mixed and so on. That's what's posted. I appreciate the close listen and comments!! Tx K

He's right K, the stuff you've posted is excellent. Aren't you the one who put up \"The Whistler\"? That's in my MP3 list! Don't be discouraged if your mixes don't sound to your ears like they do in your head...I think you've got some good ideas. Some things are better mixed in mono, so you can pan and process them better. Just experiment and you'll find a sound for every song. Either that, or you could hire Mutt Lange to do your stuff so his wife (Shania Twain) will be home and lonely and wishing I would come over and rub behind her knees.

I'd be rubbing elsewhere, but I guess you've been away from women a long time to remember that.

Well, it's place to start...ya neva know where a woman likes to be touched. Til they tell ya, anyway. You know how it is with rich, beautiful women. That's all I see around here. Married tho, what a shame...
