One off the top of my head is the guitar solo between
Glen Tipton and KK Downing in the tune \" The Sentinel\" on
the defenders of the faith CD. Name yours so we can listen
to them and see if we get the same feeling.

i like the bit in Hendrix's ezy rider when the riff kicks back in after going quiet
a bit (and the bongos start going!)

also Sleeping village/a little bit of finger/warning by black sabbath
(i count it all as one song but it seems to be made of 3 parts!) when the long solo
in the middle finishes and geezer butler and tony ward
come back into play...

many more - too many to mention... :shock:

The opening riff to Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow - Man on the Silver Mountain.
Still to this day, I get chills when this song starts on the radio.
It's the same chills I got when I first put the album (yes, album) on the turntable back in the early 70s.

ANY one of metalica's BBOOONNNNEEEE crunching riffs
(standard formula on RTL,MOP,and the grand opus of
them all or any....and justice for all...) after kirk's solo's,
like the one in master of puppets after the solo climax,
tension and release baby,tension and release.Way to
bad they suck %^&^$@ d#@$ now,a perfect example
of quiting while your ahead,ala barry sanders,john elway,
ect.Another one when cranked up that gives me the
shivers almost all the time are David Glimour's solo(s)
in Comfortably numb,such vocal quality to his playing,
that is something your mos def born with.

For chills down my spine, I have to say Comfortably numb, I still get
it to this day when I play live

However, close runner ups has to be (too many to choose)
Tonight (second solo in the song) (Randy/Ozzy) gives me shivers

and what about no more tears!!!
and then of course Little Wing, oH freebird for one of the greatest
but not one that sends a shiver.

Oh this is too frikin hard, too many How about a new post
that just list great guitar solos, you know more abscure ones
eg while I am not a Bryan adams fan, the solo in Cuts like
a knife really kicks ass.

The outro solo to Mr. Crowley,
after Ozzy says \"I wanna know what you meant..yeah..\" That
gets me every time.

Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the Sky-man, that is awesome. I never thought
of the human voice as a musical instrument until I heard
that track. Blows me away.

Angel by Hendrix-
especially at the end where he's kinda humming in that
haunting way. It's almost eerie, but beautiful at the same time.

Cream playing Crossroads
live. I must've heard that a million times, but it came on
the radio the other day and the hairs on my arm just stood
on end. Those guys really had the fire!

I'm sure there are zillions more, but those are the ones
that I think of right away when I think \"goosebumps\"

1.) Comfortably Numb, particulary the second lead...That album made me pick up the guitar in teh first place. I had it on vinyl (showing my age now) and played it over and over and over on my mom's 1970's tube receiver)
2.) No More Tears: The lead in that song and especially the ramp up to the lead right beofre it.
3.) Vera Lynn (Pink FLoyd): Acoustic - Simple but effective
4.) Diary of a Madman - The whole tune but especially the first muted arpeggio part right after the acoustic intro
5.) (Frente): Labor of Love: Again, simple acoustic guitar with recorder

I could name a ton of licks/changes/leads, etc., that gives me the \"chills\" The whole song of \"all along the watchtower\" by Hendrix (it has a particular haunting feeling in and of itself....not just the solo.

I know we are talking mostly about leads, but one song is rather haunting, if not eerie and sends chills up my spine especially if you listen to it with all the lights out with headphones is \"When Heaven Comes Down\" by Dokken off Tooth and Nail.

I know what you mean about \"comfortably numb\"....i get em too.

The first time i heard \"electric eye\" by JP ....i was 13 or 14 at the time... or the first time i heard \"the ripper\" off Unleashed in the East Live in Japan.

How about DREAM THEATERS \"SPIRIT CARRIES ON\". Especially the live DVD version when the Gospel Choir comes out. Have a couple beers and watch that - I defy you not to cry! It just does not get any better than that. In fact, I think that is the pinnicle of the history rock music. As you may be able to tell, I like it.
