Latency whan recording with RP-155

I have an RP-155 that I'm using in conjunction with Reaper DAW. I'm using ASIO4all as a driver but I was experiencing latency when recording. I downloaded a latency testing app (CU_LTU_37) and found that the ASIO4all driver was clicking along at 1.45MS with 64 samples but the RP-155 driver was sluggish at 11.45 with 240 samples. Even though I'm using ASIO4all in the DAW I'm still getting latency.

Can anyone figure out what the problem is? I don't know how to adjust the sample rate for the RP-155 driver and/or the RP-155 driver is active at the same time as the ASIO4all.

A very confusing and confounding situation. ... Please help !!

  • Regardless of who is sluggish, you're always going to get some latency with digital recording. The zero-latency solution is to have your RP155 going out in analog to whatever device you're monitoring with, then you never have to worry about that issue.

For instance, I have a mixer set up in my studio, and all things that make sound are hooked up to it - PA speakers, monitors, headphone preamp/mixer, etc. My laptop, GNX pedals (equivalent to your RP155), and any other signal sources are plugged into the mixer. So this way I can record using the pedal as the interface at any latency the situation necessitates, but I will always have zero-latency monitoring and playback.
  • So ... you're suggesting that I need a mixer as an interface between the RP-155 and my computer (DAW)? It would work but, the reason I purchased the RP-155 was because it had a USB connection and was supposed to work as a guitar/computer interface.

It really sucks if the pedal can't do what it was advertised !!
