I ordered the mfx supermodels \"classic\" disc for my GNX4. It should be arriving today. Looking forward to finally experiencing what people have been talking about!
Very nice collection! There is a lot to go through, so it's sometimes overwhelming, but once you take your time and sit down to go through it, it's all very useful.
I recently got the Ultimate series, and have built over 100 presets based on the amp/cab models and artist patches, all very good tones.
They did indeed arrive, and I spent a few hours loading and evaluating the patches.
I went through the amp patches first, and although I can't really attest to their accuracy, since I've never played any of the amplifiers they're modeling, I found a dozen or so that I like the sound of -- a few Fender, Marshall, Vox, Dumble, and others -- so I saved them in the upper registers of my CF card banks.
Then I started going through the artist patches, and found some sounds that were really spectacular. The AL 2112 (Alex Lifeson) was dead-on for a lot of the Rush tunes I like to play, and I found a lot of general artist-related patches (e.g. ACDC, ZZ Top, and some blues players) very good as well. I saved those to the middle registers of my memory card.
Then I started picking from what I had collected, and modifying the patches to suit my preferences (enabling the stomp, mod, and delay pedals on all patches, and turning off or minimizing the noise gate, which tends to annoy me) and saving them in the first 01 - 20 banks for easy access.
I had some patches that I created and liked quite well before today, but all of those have been saved and replaced with my customized supermodels patches, because they sound better. So, it's not just hype after all.

Not bad for a few bucks and a couple hours work.
