Any one have this issue? My RP155 shows AR (armed) - I expect it to record when i play a note. It does not play until I hit the left pedal once more and change it to \"RC\". What am I doing wrong?

This is a strange one...I have the RP155 and use the looper a lot, exactly as you described. When the display sez \"AR\", it should start recording as soon you start playing (and change to \"RC\").
If I had to guess, I'd say the signal strength isn't strong enough to trigger the recording automatically.
Just a guess...I'm not really a tech wiz. Other guys here do that. I'm just here to meet chix.

That was my best guess too, but I wasn't brave enough to venture it...
Can you hear the guitar playing through the pedal, like effects and amp modeling, etc? Once you get it to start recording by pressing the pedal, is the volume level what you expect it to be?
 I think you both are right. I used a preset that was a bit mild... to activate RC, last night i experimented - i need to really pluck that first string and it now works. My guitar playing needs to be more agressive I guess. Good now - thanks.
