From installing which drivers #$%^%&^&$#,,,,,,,,,,and all that, I don't know what it is I am looking for to get me going on vista,,I apologoze for my ignorance,, :?
If that does not work, try the newer firmware.
update for Vista and should work with Win 7.

Thank you for your help thus far, I love the gnx4 for what it can do, I also use it in my live rig as well, but the tech stuff is almost to much for me,,,that's what happens when you give a redneck a computer,,lol
You might want to try downloading Reaper. I think it's $60 after the trial is up but its far better than PTP. Other cakewalk versions like Home Studio 7Xl might be better alternatives.
When using the GNX with newer Vista or Win 7, the newer daw software will be better at detection.
You'll also want to use asio4all drivers.
You can even try using the asio4all drivers and see if they work on Pro Tracks Plus. From some it does, others it does not.

My old XP machine died a few months ago, and I got a new Win7 PC.
In an above reply, Mike stated to just go ahead, plug in the GNX, and let Windows (Vista) \"find\" its driver.
I did this, and SOMETHING installed, but when I opened up the DAW (Sonar7) and went to Options-MIDI, the GNX4 was NOT there to be selected. There used to be a \"Digitech USB MIDI\" option available, this time there's none.
And when I checked Windows Devices and Printers, it shows a very generic \"USB Device\" installed. Which means that NONE of the GNX's specific functionality was installed, right??
So, all of you using Vista/7, did you just plug in your GNX4 and everything was recognized, or did you install the driver from DT's site?
Thanks for any assistance.

The general advice for Vista and later is to not install anything from Digitech (if you have, remove it first), and let Windows install the drivers automatically.
Right now, the only thing that shows up in the Options is \"USB MAC\", which is a Windows data transport layer protocol (Media Access Control), and not an audio/MIDI interface driver.
If you're telling me that your GNX just \"plugged and played\" in Win 7 (64 bit), then maybe mine just didn't install correctly. However, it does seem to have installed SOME KIND of driver, since a generic \"USB device\" does show up in Device Mngr...
Also, the driver mode for my setup is WMD, that would make a difference - it's possible (I'm not certain) that USB MAC is something that shows up in ASIO mode.
