How do I record with Cubase LE4 and my RP255?

I just got an RP255 and I installed the X-Edit software and the Cubase LE 4 DAW.

The X-Edit software works okay, but I can't seem to record with the Cubase DAW. I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Can anybody tell me how to record with my RP255 and the Cubase recording software it came with? TIA for any info.

  • The Rp becomes the sound card as far as what Cubase see's
So plug in the Rp to a USB then open up Cubase and set the audio up using the RP as your sound card. Once you have that set up it should work. When you enable a track to record you will probally need to turn on direct monitoring in Cubase to be able to hear output of the RP unit. If this is unclear read the setup help files in Cubase. Getting sound out of the computer takes a little setup time. Cheers!

Thanks for the reply, thatsastrat. I found out what the problem was, I needed to run Windows Update and install new updates to my system, something I've been neglecting to do. I also uninstalled and re-installed Cubase, because I think I configured it all wrong trying to get it to record without the updates. I thought uninstalling and re-installing would be easier than trying re-configure everything, as I'm a total n00b at recording. Anyway, I'm able to record now and hear the playback.

Hope this can help somebody else with the same problem.
