HELP! clicking noise in my recordings!

whenever I record with my gnx4 in conjunction with with pro tracks plus, there is this rapid and regular clicking noise that plays over what I have recorded. it increases in volume as the actual guitar work increases in volume. please help, I really want to get recording!

IIRC, there is also a metronome function in PTP that you can turn on/off. Check that out, too. Always start with the easy stuff to overlook. Take care.
