RP20 OS Upgrade Issues
Blast from the past here...I am still actively using and in love with my ten year old RP 20 pedal. Recently, I attempted to update the original OS with the upgrades provided over the past several years (I had fallen a bit behind), however, in doing so, I seem to have completely hosed my pedal.
I am running Mac OS (newest OS), however, running MIDI (and the updates) via a Windows XP emulator (Parallels)...have never had prior issues with this setup. The MIDI box connecting the pedal to the computer is recognized / assigned to the Windows virtual machine / emulator, so the connection there is also fine.
The Updater program used to feed the new OS to the board seems to kick off just fine, however, in the process of dumping the new OS to the pedal, the process freezes, and in doing so, the pedal board is frozen as well. I get alternating messages on the pedal board ranging from \"Expected 50h\" to \"Found hardware\" to \"Receiving Data\", however, in all cases, the update process just seems to freeze. I'm unfortunately unable to even do a hard reset on the board to get it out of the OS update loop, and repeated attempts to re-run the Update process have continued to fail.
Anyone else out there have experience in dealing with this issue? Thanks again for the patience in reviewing the details of this post and for the input. I love this board, and I dearly hope I haven't ruined it!

But. Back to your problem...might I suggest doing the update via another computer - and probably a PC, not mac? I suspect you're getting some sort of cross-platform snafu that the software won't go around....
And if you run into Shania at Starbucks, have her call me, will ya? 8)
Consider your greeting to Shania a done deal!
If any others have any other experiences re: this upgrade would love to hear about it (though I realize this is ancient history for most!).
