i got a rp 355 and in the effects i cant get the pedel to work on things like the whammy. i can turn it on, but using the pedal just turns the sound down, and doesnt change the pitch

Last row of the matrix, change EXPPDL parameter to WHAMMY. Along those lines, anyway - that's how it works on GNXs.
