\"Life, Yet Alive\"

Decided to go ahead and post the 'instrumental only' version of the latest song I'd put together for my band. However, having parted ways with that group...I figured might as well throw it out there, just for the hell of it. :D

Eventually I'll get around to finishing it either with a new band, or just collaborating with a vocalist.

First song I've released in ~4.5 years.

[EDIT]

For those without Flash 10...

  • This sucks. Not your song but I have to have flash player 10 just to hear it.

    Fine, No problem.

Downloaded Flash player 10. My system does not meet Flash player 10 requirements. I tried and wasted a lot of time doing it. So I can't listen to Face book stuff.

Suggestion: Open a Sound Click account where anyone and everyone can hear what you want them to hear without them having to jump through a bunch of hoops first.

The longer I am on the Internet, the less fun it becomes. Maybe if all the cell phone freaks would use computers once in a while they wouldn't have to be changing crap every other day. Sorry, James, I tried.
  • Sounded mighty good to me! Great song structure. Like the synths & stuff happening in it. makes it interesting for a longer tune with at this point no Vocals. Were the sequenced or played from a keyboard? I would like to learn to play some keys someday 8) How bout the drums? The sound real good to me as well! Do you have some Reverb on them? Great song man!
  • Same problem with the flash player..

Flash 10 required? Really?! Well that just sucks!

    Sorry guys.

Ok, from now on I'll just post links to my personal site. It has a Flash player, but it only requires version 8.

Partch...I played all keys (synths & pianos), self taught (not very good, just \"OK\" =).

The drums were all Acid Loops. Some were \"tweaked\" by me to fit the part. Effects were mostly from the Waves Gold bundle. The main drum loop (the heavy tribal type pattern) already had reverb, so no additional effects were applied to that track.
  • for my band. However, having parted ways with that group.

Emovere? That's too bad if it is. Thought everyone was happy! Life sucks when the romance wears off!

Anyways very nice early morning listen. imo mellow with an edge.... You gonna finish it? As an instrumental or try to put some vocals to it? LoL .. If your like me, everything is on the shelf unfinished!

I liked it! as with your other stuff. Should make a fine addition to the jame.s.t.ation / James St. Station catalog!
  • Yeh, I left Emovere.

Long story short, the vibe just wasn't cutting it. We were down to just one rehearsal a week (IF that), and I was the only one writing both music an melodies.

I started out looking for a full (or near full) functioning band, digging the collaborative setting. Over the last 5 months it just dwindled down to just myself and the singer, and I just don't really have it in me to rebuild another band from the ground up.

I'll either find a band where I'm the \"missing piece\", or I'll just continue to write/record on my own.

I hope to finish every song on my site one of these days, either with vocals (preferred), or at least a lead guitar playing the vocal melody/harmonies.

Time will tell, though at 45 I'm pretty sure my time/chances have expired for a shot at anything substantial in the music biz. :D

Ah well, such is life. Just gotta keep on keepin' on and see what happens.

  • I hope to finish every song 8)

Worldy POV, no comment... Optimistcally, never say never!
Atleast you have the missing link look, going on!
    :P
  • JAMES,

Just that one song took an hour to load on my antique line modem. I was able to sample at times as it loaded. Then I could hear the whole song after it filled up.

I love your synths. I even have a big Polyphonic Memory Moog (like new) in my closet. I played it for a while and went back to the guitar. I only wish I had the patience to do some backing like yours.

I liked what you do. That song reminded me of Tubular Bells in spots. For any reading who do not know, it was the theme to \"The Exorcist\" With Linda Blair.

I used to listen to a lot of movie sound tracks, but only the instrumental tracks. That is what your song brings to mind.
I thought the guitar was too far down in the mix for my particular taste. I liked it, just wanted a bit more. Guitar man, ya know. I wished I could hear everything you have there. I just don't think my computer would last that long with my modem speed. Good Stuff!!
  • Very well put together. I wish I could get my recordings to sound that good.

I like the song. Are there vocals that go with that? If not, prob would sound good with some more lead guitar in it. Very well done.
