SageTV and music instruction videos

I have had SageTV (computer based DVR for the TV) running on my entertainment center for just over a year now, and the more I use it the more I like it. Recently, I upgraded to high speed internet (yeah!) and have been able to download music instruction videos from YouTube and Google (using SageTV) and save them to the hard drive. The videos play on our main TV and it's much easier for my old eyes than using my small laptop. Also, SageTV lets you load up your DVD files, avi files, etc. on the computer so that you can call up any of your favorite music concerts or full length guitar instructional programs to watch. It also plays mp3 files, etc...

I used to have Windows Media Center on my TV based computer, but I find SageTV to be a better fit for me and easier to work with. Also, SageTV records everything in standard .mpg format which you can save/convert/whatever to any other format. Microsoft's Windows Media Center records everything in a locked down file format of DVRMS. You can't even record some programming on Windows Media Center because of the digital rights BS (hey, I pay for cable TV). So, I switched over to SageTV and really enjoy all the benefits it offers over MS's Media Center.

Well, I just wanted to pass on my experience as I had just finished downloading, recording, and saved yet another \"how to play\" video from YouTube that got me over the hump on a song I am looking at. Is everyone a better player than me? (please don't answer....). Take care.
