Classroom Behaviour - A little rock tune

Hi there, thought I'd post this little tune I wrote. I've not composed or recorded for a long time due to being computerless for quite a few months. But recently got me a little laptop and for Christmas got Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 which is a great little program. I used my GNX3000 for all guitar tones, a Bass loop which I cut up and used Session Drummer in GTP4 which is like EZ Drummer which makes drum programming a lot easier so pretty simple stuff, just a basic tune, got to get back into the swing of things really. Anyways, hope you like!:

Cheers & a very Happy 2010 to you all...:)

  • Axe,
Nicely played. I can hear a Satch influence to this tune. Something you may want to concider is using a hi-pass e-q on the guitar parts to let more of the loer end come through on the bass and drums. It sounds just a tadd hollow, and this could help. You may think, but it ruins my guitar tone, and it does, but it helps the total mix, and that is good.
    Thanks for sharing!
  • Hey mate,

Thanks very much for listening and your comments Bro!... interesting tip on the EQ side, I'll bare that in mind and have a go at remixing with your idea so how it goes.....Must admit though, it sounded ok thru my cans and rig. Thanks again !
  • Oh that was a good listen. Nice Job.
  • Hey Mr. H, thanks for listening & posting a comment, really appreciate it Bro!.. :)
  • Hey Happy New Year to you Axe2grind! That was mighty fine playin! i agree with the Satch kind of vibe going on. So how did you do the bass? Sounded good to me. Did kind of take a back seat to the guitars BUT hey that's was the main thing going on so cool. I like that little break down in the middle as well deffinetly broke it up a tad before comming back to the main Idea 8)
  • Hey Partch,

Thanks very much for checking it out Bro. well the bass was just a couple of slap bass loops that came with the sample content of Cakewalk GT Pro 4, just a very simple arrangement and as you say it was the guitars that were the focus, just whipped up the drums and bass very quickly using the stuff that comes with GTP4 but when you do that, you don't have much control over the direction of the tune, I usually compose the bass myself on keys but keyboardless at the moment. I am a big Satch fan and heavily influenced by the man, so pleased that it has a Satch Vibe.
Thanks again, and for your comments Bro. :)
  • Hey Justin,

Nice Tunage Dude! Doesn't sound hollow to me at all.

Like your style. Right on Bro. 8)

Aw it happens, I can write volumes on the stupid stuff I have said or done, cuz of misfired neurons due to an electrical synapse surge. Or it may have been a chemical synapse overload due to over consumption of Jim Beam..

Either way it was still funny.. It reminded me of me! LoL
  • Well Rawb, unfortunately I can't use alcohol as an excuse (not this time!), just pure plain old stupidity
