Alt rockish tune

Been awhile since I've been to this forum...trying to figure how to record(still). Hoping someone could give me some feedback on a tune of mine \"She Wants to Be.\" This is the fourth version of this song...I even have an instrumental of it that sounds nothing like this version.

Anyway I'd appreciate the feedback. It's kinda U2 and Nirvana-ish.

Hey Antony cool to hear from you man! Hows it been? Anyhow I like the tune alot man 8) As fars as what to tell you to do with it to make it better, not sure? Anyhow good job man! You are playing a real Bass now for Bass Line right? I think I remember you sayin you were going to get one? Anyhow sounds good man!

Thanks Partch. Yeah, I got a Hofner bass about 6 months ago...but for this one I actually used my Epiphone Casino with a pitch shifter. I actually did the bass line as a quick guide while I worked out the lead part but ended up leaving it in :oops: because I thought it worked.

It's kinda funny- I posted this tune in another forum and one guy said it was too muddy- too much low end. To me it sounds ok but I still have problems mastering so that my tunes translate across various systems.

Hey Rob.. Dang almost missed this one.
Has a nice upbeat groove/tempo to it, I like it. But as you mentioned it does seem a bit muddy to me too! Could be it lost something in the conversion... I have noticed that when I convert. So I have to mix it a lil brighter to get a mp3 to sound right.. It's wierd, to me anyways, seems like some tunes need a brighter mix and some don't..

Might try a version with an over all brightness to it an see how it sounds converted ... But then again... If it sounds alright to you... regardless of what anyone says .. it is good to go ..

I like the foundation of the song alot. But I couldn't understand parts of the opening music, as with the other post its muddy. Could be due to Soundclick streaming tho. Kinda jarbled noise....is what it sounded like to me.

The guitar amp sounded like it had a ripped speaker but I still liked it.
In some parts you almost reminded me of David Bowie.

Hey thanks guys. Brightened it up a couple of days ago but still sounds off to me- probably boosted the highs too much. I use Ozone and usually don't touch the \"harmonic exciter\" but used it on the last version of this- but as Joatmon said, it punches the guitar through too much.

One of these days I'll figure out how to mix.
