I need Help with rp1000 and my SONAR DAW

Hello,

I need to find the right forum for posting about a problem I am having with my new rp1000. If this post needs to be moved I understand.

I see a lot of GNX forums and stuff and here or there postings about other digitech gear here, so here I go.

This would be a recording based issue interfacing with Cakewalk Sonar.
I do not use CuBase (which comes with the rp1000)

I installed AISO drivers and it was a flawless install.

I have my track setup correct in Sonar. I see the AISO drivers for the rp1000 in Sonar Preferances, and I selected the input for the track as being the rp1000 which appears in the inputs list. Awesome.

I see the volume fluctuate in the VU meter, so I am getting input from the rp1000.

For the audio out I use my Presonus Firepod as an audio output to my powered studio monitors.
(This setup has been working great for me.)

Now here's the rub, what I hear from the rp1000 is garbled distorted sound.

How do I connect the rp1000 direct into Sonar over USB2 for recording?

Obviously since Digitech ships their product with Cubase, it can interface with a DAW.

Please Advise

  • I am just going off of the top of my head right now,but if I understand you correctly you are using two different soundcards, the rp 1000 & the firepod.
In ASIO you can only use one soundcard at a time. For instance I can either use my M-Audio Ozonic OR the GNX4.
Try using the rp 1000 for input and output and deselect anything else in the options>audio.Close Sonar and re-open it and see if that fixes it.
Also in the options>audio general tab there is an ASIO panel select that should bring up the rp 1000's ASIO panel so you can adjust for latency.
You might have to turn the firepod as well.
My knowledge is limited but give that a try.I will try to help as much as I can.
If you call Digitech support, ask for Shane. Many here can vouch for his computer knowledge.
    LOL.
  • Hi everyone - long time, no post.

Rick, +1 on the ASIO issue. Only 1 ASIO device can be active at a time. But, since you have a Firepod, I would use it as the in/out, and just have the 1/4\" outs of the RP1000 going to the Firepod. You can keep the USB plugged in from the RP1000 to the computerr for access to the Editor, but don't have the RP1000 selected as an audio in or out. I believe your results will be most pleasing. This is how I use my GNX4 or RP350 through my Echo Audio interface, and it works great that way.
