Is this \"Hardwire Tuner\" a separate device or a tuner built into one of the GNX's? The tuners on the GNX's, that I am aware of, can be set to frequencies other than A=440. Check out the owner's manual for your device for specific instructions.
Having said that, I am wondering why you would want to change the default A=440 tuning to something else? Is there some reason that you need to move from the accepted standard pitch for the tuner? Best wishes.
 ...manual... we don't need no stinking manual.
Many Orchestra's tune to A=441/442, because of the variety of instruments to blend.
My personal preference is to tune a half step down or more, unless I need to tune to a backing track.
Depends what you do, if you have certain instruments to tune along with, or your voice range.
I guess A=440 was made the standard, but I think most bands go with what works best for them.
There are lots of variables to consider, and the standard is just a reference.
If you use any harmonica, A=441 is going to fit better.
You know..Hendrix and SRV tuned to 415 Hz. If you use real heavy gauge strings like SRV...(bridge cable strings)
you are not going to tune to 440 Hz. (Hendrix...pfft he was always stoned and out of tune) :P
EVH tuned to Eb, with occasional drop-D. Satch uses Eb allot.
Anyway...the A=440 \"standard\" was not made by guitarists. :?
 ...manual... we don't need no stinking manual. ...
Well, it appears that jmbohn has not purchased the tuner yet, so I thought he might like a link to the manual and be able to read all the features before his purchase. Before I make a purchase of new gear, I usually read through the manual to see what I can and cannot do with the unit. It helps me to compare features of different units. Anyway, I don't see jmbohn responding to any of these posts, so maybe we are just talking to ourselves at this point.....

OK, here is the manual for the HT-2 Hardwire Chromatic Tuner ftp://ftp.digitech.com/pub/PDFs/Manuals/HardWire_Manuals/18-0478-A%20HT-2%20Chromatic%20Tuner.pdf. Page 8 of the manual tells you how to change the reference tuning. You can set the tuner to A=441, if that is what you want.
