My Student's Trio ROCKED tonight!
As some may know, I am a full-time guitar teacher and help direct a music school. Tonight was our spring Rock Band Camp Concert. The group I worked with ended up being a trio after one of the guitarists quit very early on (week 3 (out of 10) and actually never came to 1 practice).
They were amazing. The name was The Flame. The guitarist is 15. The lead vocalist (who is primarily a guitarist) played fretless bass and led the band, and is 11 years old! And the drummer ROCKED INCREDIBLY and is 12 years old!!!
Set List:
1. Joker & the Thief - Wolfmother ->(directly into)
2. My Own Worst Enemy - Lit
3. Vasoline - Stone Temple Pilots
4. My Generation - The Who
5. Blindman - Black Stone Cherry
6. Anyway You Want It - Journey
7. Goodbye to Romance - Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhodes
8. You Got Another Thing Coming - Judas Priest
I have used my GNX4 with students in the past. But to keep it simple on stage I just ran the guitar through my Marshall Guv'Nor 2 Pedal into a clean channel on a Fender Bassman amp. Sweet! That little Marshall pedal rules!
I had all three guys playing AND singing too! It was pump your fist bang your head good. Their groove was hard hitting.
Only criticism was they took the tempo like 120 mph on Anyway You Want it. And keep speeding up \"Another Thing Coming\". But they were excited! It was great, I'm so proud! Just wanted to share. I think I will be able to link some video in a day or two from a parent. Rock on children, fly on! Keepin' it Real...Keepin' it Raw
