Cubase Question
Hey folks, Seeing that I bought my RP500 I thought I would give this Cubase 4 a whirl and I have to say I'm quite impressed. I know for many of you its probably no big deal. But for someone like me who's had an absolute sh*tfight with Pro Tracks Plus  and my GNX3k for the last 2 years - having a program that actually works for me is making me grin bigtime!
But I've got a little gremlin going on that only happens occasionally which has me scratching my block head. Having said that, I've only used it about ten times, so I'm a Cubase virgin so to speak...
So here's my situation:
I have Cubase running and I've put down track 1. I then record a second track with my guitar and decide it sounds crap so I delete that track. Before I record it again, I flick over to XEdit in another window to change a few things on the preset. When I go back to Cubase to start recording the track again, there's no input signal to record. It was there 5 seconds ago and now its gone.
Can someone tell me why this happens?? Thanks very much in advance, I'll endeavour to email you a beer!

I'm wondering if you have to save your work to a folder, then if you delete anything, you can still retrieve your other tracks.
I don't know how the files are handled, and wouldn't doubt there is a reason you end up upgrading to the \"full version.\" :?
But anyway...that is my stab at it...and hope that is worth a beer.
If not...I think this link to some nice Cubase tutorials oughtta. Not your LE 4, but close enough...and hope it helps.

You do know we are not very mature...right?
...but we know how to parrrrtaaay.
I actually tried to audition for this first one but the buggars told me I didn't have the physique for the part.....how rude!
Is it wrong that I'd rather have the hott babe than the cold beer?!?
Um, no, I don't think there should be an order of preference between the beer and the hot babe.......hell, some people would probably prefer the fish!
Nup, the one I'm sweet on is the fish-lovin' babe. Nice dress, eh?
PS howz' your Cubase working??
I'm just gonna lay here and look sexy, and let the
she-bots come to me. BAAAAAAAAAAARRRP!(blowtorch-like flames)
Thanks for the Beer mate.
1. I need to keep checking to see if the track I'm using is enabled or not. I think this worked a couple of times although its not consistent.
2. Cubase seems to be happier maybe when I don't have XEdit running in another window. Its not to do with operating speed, just something to do with another program talking to the RP500 perhaps.
Thats about all I can tell you so far. At one stage I was having to close Cubase down and reopen it just to get the tracks working again. I'm sure there's a quick fix/answer to it all, I've just got to find it.
