New Tune To listen to

This a tune my friend John wrote.
I put down all the music, keys, bass , guitar
We wanted to get some feedback to the music before we put the vocals down.
I know I can count on the folks on the Workstation to help us out.

  • Nice, easygoing groove. The git'r had a really smooth cruisin' feel, very tight. I also dug the KB's - very vintage Chicago. Good job w/the drums too. Can't wait to hear the finished version! 8)

Ditto! While listening I was trying to imagine the lyrics LoL Judging from the title. Got a ETA on the finished product?
  • Yeah I like this one Start Man! It will deffinetly be neat to hear it complete with vocals! who will sing the vocals? The only thing I heard or thought was wierd a little was the ending? I just thought that was kind of abrupt. Anyhow eazy fix. Are you sequencing the Keys or actually playing keyboards? i did thnk they were a tad thin torwards the begining of the song but built nicely & filled in great! Your guitar work was cool! Did you play a slide with a slide on the solo? Just wondering it had a feel to it not sure what was done there? But I liked it! Overall very good feel to this tune 8) I like it! :D
  • Hey bud,

Just some advice on the Organ from a \"Chicago\" Organ guy. Don't know what level of key playing your at but I come here to get advice on my entry level guitar playing  (Since I started keyboard first and consider myself pretty advanced in that area anyway)Organs will sound real \"GM\" without a lot of variation in notes. I would play chords usually sliding the middle note from a half a step down into the note it's supposed to be. (Gives it more of a realistic bluesy feel - From the \"Telephone\" EQ entry I get the feeling your going to tell a story in this song and think a bluesy sounding organ would be the way to go) Also on the leslie sound try and get a sound where you can vary the amount of leslie as the chord progresses(Won't sound so flat and repetitive). Of course I wouldn't get to fancy behind the vocals or guitar riffs or solo's. Just my opinion of course.
    Cheers dude.
  • Shred,
Thanks for takin' the time to listen and post your thoughts.
  • Rawb,
Thanks for the listen. No eta on the finished song.
I have moved and I can not find anything.
Been busy putting a home back together so the music has to wait for now.
  • Partch,
Thanks for the listen. The thin sound in the begining was a EQ setting to
make track sound like listening through a phone. I was playing the keyboards, or should I say trying to play them. I was using a glass slide to play the guitar. My friend John will sing the song and I will do the BG vocals.
  • Roger,
Have you ever seen a keyboard with training wheels attached?
Well thats how advanced my keyboard skills are.
I do enjoy trying. I will try to do some of the things you suggested.

Well that's awsome bro! I thought you may of been going for that sound a vintage older feel.
