Great Service From Music Store
Not sure if any other Music Store does what this store does but...
Sweetwater, (sweetwater.com)impressed me with their follow up. What I mean is, I bought an interface from them on the internet and salesman called me couple days later to see how it was working for me. I thought, wow, nobody has ever done that before. He said to call if I ever have any questions about anything. Okay, I will
Then I wanted to get a voice enhancer, I acually had a thread on here about any free ones out there--I didn't find any suitable, I called my \"salesman\" because.. he told me to. So I did, He asked some questions on what, where, and how I was going to use this. Then, he pointed to which I should buy. So after I received it I was a little confused on how to get it going, connected me to tech-support and within minutes had me going.
As I said, not sure if anyone else does this, but for someone that has to drive 40 miles to nearest music store and a beginner in all this new technology--I thought it was great.

Glad to hear about good salesmen and customer support! Thanks, will keep that in mind if I order online!
I had many questions, but I spared my sales rep, and joined here instead. He thanks you all very much.
One other company I like is Alpha Music.
They tell me that they don't have any at any store anywhere (is that too many anys? hahahaha) Anyway (oops) the guy tells me to get a Boss PSA 120 because that will work \"just fine\". I'm thinking whaaat? So I do exactly that. You would think Line 6 would have it together a little better than that.
Sweetwater sounds good, I'll give it a try.

Absolutely agree with you Judas. Having a music shop that will do that extra for you is awsome. There are too many music stores around who have idiots for salespeople - dudes that call themselves musicians but haven't a clue. Quite often I've walked into a shop with money in my pocket to buy a specific bit of gear I know is there and walked out again because of the BS they try to feed me.....
Judas, you say you have to travel 40 miles to your nearest music shop.....well I have a 7 hour drive directly east to my nearest one!! BUT here's a good story for you: The music shop I deal with had the first and ONLY 2 brand spanking new Rivera KR7 heads here in Australia and they sent one of them out to me to TRY!! Not to buy, just to give it a go. They paid freight out and back too if I wanted to send it back. Of course, I loved it and bought the first one here in the country. They've rung me up since a few times and asked how the amp is going etc. Now to me that is good service! And thats the feel good story I wanted to share with you all

Wow, thats excelllent. Now all you need to do is buy the cab with Celestion speakers, unless you already did. If they want me to try the new EVH heads I wouldn't be opposed. Great story.
As far as cabs go I've got the choice of a JSX cab, Marshall 1960 and a B52 AT412 to go with the Rivera. And to be honest I prefer the B52 Quad the most out of the three. Its 480watt and has a nice sweet spot in it, plenty of mids and lows but not has harsh as the other two. But thats just my preference. The cleans are way nicer too and that suits this head because the clean channel is phenomenal! Now I only wish I could play well enough to do justice to this head!
I did try the matching Rivera Seven quad at the shop last time I was there and I didn't get real excited about it, similiar to my Marshall I guess. I also tried a friends Recto cab but this head pumps out too many lows and it was pretty muddy - so an oversized cab isn't useful.
I would love to try a new EVH head but god knows where I would find one here. Judas, would you buy one because you're an EVH fan or because of the way the head sounds?? I saw some other comments online and people were saying they are just an over-priced Van Halen novelty. Actually I've heard the same about the latest EVH guitar too. What do you think?
Channel 1 had a nice clean tone, channel 2 had more early Eddie sound and Channel 3 I got a \"unchained\" sound to it--that make sense.
As far as tone goes on this, I think, this is my opinion, its better than Marshall. Don't get me wrong, Marshall is always in my heart, but if I had to make a decision between the two--I have to pick EVH.
I went through alot of different tones and sequences(hour and a half)and probably still didn't sratch the surface of its ability.
Maybe the first 5150's didn't have the sound that triple sticks does--not sure. That is the only one I had the opportunity to play.
They wanted $3000 for the whole set up. $2000 just for the head. When spending that musch--I would definitly try it out some more.
