What is it now? No internal rework? Just a head now?
Yeah, just a head. I use several cabinets (one at the practice room, one at home ect..) so I made it into just a head so I can accommodate different cabs.

So you completely gut it before cuttin' on it? Peel back that fine leather siding before cuttin? :P Screws only or screw an glue?
Next one have them valves glowing thru that new grill! :P 8)
Nice job there phatsack, looks like real quality work from where I'm sitting.....I used to have the same amp...bought mine new in '94, it sounded pretty nice with my Les Paul gold top(p90's) and a tube screamer. I traded it for a crate 125 acoustic amp a few years back (O past gear remorse....for both that amp and the Les Paul!!). Oh well....
What sort of drivers are you running the head through now? eminence, celestion, jensen? always wondered what a speaker swap or extension cab would have done for mine back when i still had it.
I just took the tubes out, taped where I wanted to cut (so the tolex and wood wouldn't splinter) - then I cut it and brought the bottom up. The bottom isn't perfect, it looks kick @55 from the front and sides, but since it was a little bigger on the bottom the back sticks out about a 1/2\"
right now I'm using it with the 1x12 Randall that I built and sometimes my 2x10 cab. (both are in this thread) and at the practice room I'm using a Crate 4x12.
the randall sounds the best - a nice open back cab tone
the 2x10 cab is a little dark, but it has that \"boxy\" tone of a closed back cab
the crate isn't mine, but it has plenty of power to push that - hard to explain the tone of that other than \"could be better\"
