Back after long hiatus.....
Hey All,
I haven't posted here forever, and I've been cruising the forums lately so I thought I'd post and say hi to all of you and hopefully get back in the swing of things. I've really been neglecting my guitars and music over the last year, and it's time for that to change. The truth is, I've been neglecting all of my passions for sometime...and it's time for that to stop.
Early last year, I came to the US to work, things were slow in my profession and I had the opportunity to commute back n forth on a monthly basis and it was very lucrative, so after conferring with my (then) wife of 15 years, i decided to go for it. Little did I know that the reason my wife was so supportive of my leaving, was that she was having an affair with her best friends husband. This went on for some months before I realized something was up. The draining of the bank accounts and cranking up the credit cards is what finally clued me in.
Turned out I was the biggest idiot in the world...sending paycheques home so she could use them to wine and dine her bf, and so on. My 15yo son was the one who finally told me about the affair, months after it had started. Apparently all of my neighborhood so called \"friends\" knew, as he regularly slept in my bed in my house, and no one had the balls to fill me in. I can't begin to tell you how humiliating and infuriating my day of recogning was.
Needless to say I am now divorced, and it was a really rough year...but I'm back!!! I decided to move here to the US because of my job, and now that I'm settled in and have most of the gear from my dungeon studio set up I am ready to go! I treated myself to a Taylor 814ce as a divorce present, what a sweeeeet plank! What I wanted to know was, is anyone doing online collab's anymore? I would like to start interacting with other musicians again and that woudl be a great way for me to ease back into it.
Anyways, sorry for the long gutspilling rant, I just wanted to say hi and let you guys know where I've been. This place has always been friendly, helpful, and entertaining and I'm glad to be back.
Peace,
Dobb.

It's good to see you back, and coincidentally, I was just wondering what became of 'ol Dobbie. I hope things work out well for you.
Sad to read your story, I had same kind of experience a long time ago, and it was very painful, but music is the best therapy we musicians can get, so, good to know you're on your way again.
Keep rockin' !!
Sorry to hear your of brutal episode. It's never nice to hear about this kind of thing, even if it happens all the time. But I\"m glad to hear you caught on and got yourself outta there so you can get on with your life.
The only downside is now you can't hook me up with Canuck Cuties. I mean, how often are you gonna run into Shania at Starbucks if you're living in the US?!?
Anyway...considering all that's happened - the tanking economy, a cheating wife, etc - it's really good to hear you've landed on your feet.
And - FWIW - a guy I know from another forum just had the same thing - his skank wife ran out on him - and now he's with this Aussie girl who's in the dictionary next to the word \"succulent\". So keep your chin up bud. 8)
So...I'd be up for a collab, if there's anything I do that'll help. I've done a few where people sent me a great rhythm track I jammed over, sometimes putting some KB's in; other times someone's sent me a good riff I was able to make a good song out of. The thing I'm not so good at is vox... Lemme know if you've got something you want me to tinker with...
peace.
Anyway, I'm one of the newbies, nice to see ya back on your feet. Post what ya come up with, maybe I can put something to it.
Your guitar will be theraputic(I spell that right?)it is for me.
