updated my soundcard driver.....

...and now I can't play back sound from my soundcard with PTP.

when I used the audio options to change my input/output drivers I had a whole new list of drivers that I didn't have before:

input drivers:
creative ASIO AC97 in L
creative ASIO mix (pre EQ) L
creative ASIO mix (post EQ) L
creative ASIO SPDIF in L
creative ASIO line-in 2 L
creative ASIO Auxiliary 2 L

output drivers:
creative ASIO Wave/MP3
creative ASIO Wave/MP3
creative ASIO Wave/MP3
creative ASIO Front L/R
creative ASIO Rear L/R
creative ASIO Center/LFE
creative ASIO Reverb


The drivers I used before were at the top of the lists, they were both SB Audigy something or others.


Wish I would have left well enough alone on this one :roll:

If anyone has any ideas as to what to do please let me know.

looks like config'd drivers for surround specific routing options. Did you download the specified drivers for your sound card or was there one with the same # but a different prefix... I ask, since I've mistakenly done that before

I googled \"SB Audigy Soundblaster drivers\" , downloaded and installed. Now my drivers are back. But I still have the audio drop out warning every time I try to play back a track. But my computer has been giving me trouble lately (hard drive running very hot, computer freezing up) so I'm sure it's not the sound card.

Up your latency, in Sonar. Under the Options->Audio thing. And see if that fixes it.

OK, here's the new deal :roll: I can record and playback new stuff, but any tracks that I had recorded before the update wont play back.

Fine with me for now - at least I can still use it.
