Some questions for GSP1101 owners...
Hi all
I currently have a GNX2 and even though the SUPERMODELS breathed some fresh life into the beastie last year I think it could be time for an upgrade to a more serious piece of kit...
I do have some specific questions for GSP1101 owners:
1 - am I right in thinking there is no silence between changing preset and the modulation effects \"spill over\" to give a seamless transition?
2 - using the \"Controller 2\" footpedal if I have a rhthym preset on pedal #1 and a lead preset on #5 (for example) can I press #5 for the lead sound and then pedal #5 again to return to the previous preset (I hope this makes sense! - it is quite difficult to explain)
My original RP1 did this and is a feature I have really missed on my GNX2 (if I press the same pedal twice rather than reverting to the previous patch it goes into \"bypass\" mode
- many an embarrassing silence on stage when I first got it!)
I think this feature was referred to as something like \"Recall\" or \"memory\" on some of the newer GNX units - does the GSP1101 + Controller 2 do this?
3 - Preset volumes - With the GNX2 it is a nightmare to tweak the volumes of patches - I read somewhere that there is a simple way of adjusting patch volumes on the GSP1101 - is it easy?
4 - I am quite excited by the prospect of using both the main input of my amp (Fender Super60 Valve combo) AND the effects loop for certain effects - what is the actual advantage of doing this and why does it give a better sound (assuming it does of course?!)
In the UK I am looking at around £635 for the GSP1101 (£400) + Controller 2 (£235) - is this a good price and do you find it value for money?
What are the alternatives? (I don't want to tap dance with a pedal board!)

Since I don't own, I can't say.
#1 Yes- you can have delays etc. \"trail\" into the next patch you select and they call it seamless transition or whatever.
#2 yes- you have to set the control 2 to \"bounce back\" mode and it will go back to your previous patch. I have it set up stock so hitting the patch number a second time goes into bypass mode-
#3 No- the volumes are easy to tweak, are very close right out of the box and you can set it to maintain volume levels when the expression pedal is set as a volume controller, it will remember it's volume level position when you change programs.
#4 The 4 cable method is so you can use your amps preamp and put the 1101 in the loop or vice versa.
I've had mine a whole 2 days, played it maybe 4 hours and so far I love it. It sounds great, very natural and wish I could spend the whole day playing with it......stupid work gets in the way.
Thank you soooooooo much
That was exactly what I wanted to hear (although not what my wallet wanted to hear!
I did try looking at the manuals but I wasn't sure what was dictated by the GSP1101 and what was dictated by the Controller 2
I am VERY tempted...
