New Mic on the Way!!!!!!!!

I just ordered an AT3035 from MF ...should be here on the 21st...I wait with great anticipation. Have been in the market for a new vocal condenser for some time now, never really being happy with the MCA SP1 I have . It's a decent starter mic, but at 40 bucks new i really shouldn't complain.
I read all the reviews and such on the 3035 that i could find and there seems to be alot of good press out there.
Any one here have an AT3035 or used one ? Are they as good as some of the reviews say? Love to hear some feedback.
While I'm on subject, What is everyone using to record vocals. What is your go-to mic? I'd love to what all of you are using.

P.S. It's been a while since I last logged in....good to be back and making some music again. :D

  • I hardly ever do any vocal stuff, it's pretty pointless as far as my voice box is concerned! :(

But on the rare occasion when I do try to put some artistic vocabulary to some music....... I have a gold MXL 2001 condenser mic... It was a $100 when I purchased it several yrs ago. Like I said not having a voice to really care about. I don't really keep informed on vocal mics. So I have no idea where it is on the ; Crappy, so so, decent, excellent scale!:lol:

Seems to suite my purposes just fine though.

PS. Nice to see you back!
  • I have heard good things about the MXL mic's ... alot of bang for your buck from what i have read. I 've never tried one so I can't really say.
The AT 3035 was selling At AMS for $139... $ 199 at MF, but they did match the price. I'm hoping i got a real deal here. I'm hoping it will serve me as a vocal mic as well as for my acoustic instruments ( flattop, mandolin, penny whistle ect). I think I have grown out of the present condenser i have and this seemed a logical step up without breaking the bank. My next thing is to get a good SDC to go along with it for recording acoustic guitar and mandolin. Any one have any suggestions on a good small diaphragm condenser that wont set me back alot of quidd . Like Ray Davies said... \"i'm on a Low Budget\".
