RP250 Recording through Bypass Mode

I have an RP250 connected via USB and using Cakewalk Home Studio 7. I can record fine using this setup, however, I'd like to record my guitar without using any amps, cabs or effects, basically using \"bypass\" mode on the RP250 to get a clean feed.

When I put the RP250 into \"bypass\" mode, it cuts the input into Cakewalk and I don't have a signal to record. Is there a way to use the RP250 to get a \"clean\" signal form my guitar to Cakewalk? I want this because of my Acoustic/Electric...

After reading through the forums, I've tried to select \"direct\" in the amp/cab type and turned off all effects but it still seems to be modeling the signal to some degree. I want a pure signal from my guitar, nothing added...

Thanks
Bob

  • Bob, I wish I new that one. I noticed you successfully recorded from your RP250 to Cakewalk. My son has an RP250 and we have Sonar 8 Producer. Maybe you can help. We can't get it to record at all. I have the computer soundcard as the output audio device and the RP250 as the input device. The only thing I can think of is I think the RP250 has to have the amp/mixer button on the back set to \"mixer\". Pretty sure my son has it on \"amp\". How do you record to Cakewalk?

  • I don't think RP250 supports dry signal recording.
