GSP21Pro: technical issue
Hi all,
This is more of a general maintenance question (I think) rather than being related specifically to the GSP21Pro, but hopefully I can pick your exquisite brains for an answer,
Please bear in mind I have no knowledge of electronics (guitarist!), but I'd rather fix the prob myself (with your help, if possible) than take the unit to my local music store.
I fired up the 21Pro for the first time in 5 years today and can only get an output signal through the right channel (both Cubase and headphones) unless I crank the 'output level' knob on the front of the unit up to full, at which point the left channel kicks in. Loud and nasty. As I move the Output knob around there is a lot of 'fluffing' interference noise, as if the left channel is trying to kick in.
From brief research on the web I gather it may be something to do with dirty 'pots' (or I may be completely wrong), but would like any advice available.
As stated above I have no tech knowledge, but I do build computers now and then so am happy to have a go with a bit of direction.
Any advice greatfully received.
Yours hopefully
Fred

sounds like it just needs that, and maybe a good cleaning with a can of air.
I own a fender amp that I use my GNX through. I always put the GNX through the power amp so the front knobs do nothing. And since I haven't used them in a while, the last time I tried they were crackly. So I just did what I described before (twisted the knobs back and forth) and now they are fine. That happens to gear when it doesn't get any use.
Like suggested above, just rock the control back and forth as much as 20-30x or more to see if it self cleans and restores the control function.
