I think the rp 500s and 1000's look really kool...but not the swiss army knife all in one that the gnx series was. they are an \"on board recorder- drum machine- memory card away from bieng a GNX.
Isn't that like saying that my Chevy Cavalier is just like a Porche except for the engine, the body, and quality of the automobile? Don't want to start a fight, just think that the comparison is off. I like the 500's and 1000's too, but not enough to replace my GNX4. It's the OBR, drum machine, midi interface, built in mixer, JAM Man looper, mp3 backing track play back, and CF card, etc.... that sold me on the GNX series. I'd still buy another GNX5 in the future if they kept the GNX series idea alive. Take care.
8) My comparison is those are great MFX pedals the amps are improved over the GNX series I think and thats a great start... now digitech needs to just add all the onboard rec etc and you got a GNX5.

Point well taken. My devotion to the GNX series, and especially to the GNX4, sometimes gets the better of me.
I feel the same way. The GNXs, to me, are the end-all-be-all processors. At the same time, I cannot deny that the new RPs are nothing short of well-built, quality-sounding processors. They are not for me - even the GSP1101, which I used extensively, does not make the grade - I will give those the respect they deserve. But then, I do wish Digitech delivered a Guitar Workstation type processor - maybe not in the near future but someday.
Mine went bad about 2 weeks ago actually popped the casing open and found the little fuze in there..un soldered the fuze cause it was blown threw a new one in and now it works fine again..Did have to trim a couple pieces of wire away that were getting some wear, right where the wire enters the casing..

Put me down for one GNX5. (with extra pwr supply cords, LOLLL).
I'm all for that. Best wishes.
That's going a bit far I think. I definitely think the new RPs have the quality and the engine, just not the features.

Here's to wishful thinking - cheers.
