I have heard alot of praise about them and a few pics of folks set ups looked like they had a foot controler with it. As I don't play out it ain't no biggie to me. Perhaps it's just gas.... let me go find some rolaids!

Rawb, I'm like you, I don't go out and play anywhere, which is why I think the GNX is the best thing for me--its so diverse. As far as playing live, I've read here in this forum that musicians have used them and have had great success. I used to have 7 or 8 pedals when I did gig, and to me it was a pain in the... I still have 4 boxes that I keep stored, because I feel like I can duplicate anything I can get out of those on the GNX.
Just curious--why do you want to have your GNX R.I.P.
ps did that make sense--did I understand the question :?
Okay, now I get it. I found out what you meant by \"Axe-FX\" I am still a little behind the times. So, now I know your not talking about using Individual Effects Boxes.
judaskiss.. LoL nothin to pardon! your alot smarter than me. I am sure!
My gnx is alive and well and will be for sometime ( I hope ) The DIP statement was just saying if the axe-fx is that great I wouldn't be using it anymore. Bad attempt at humor. Didn't mean to scare anyone. That their gnx was on the way out! LoL
I was just wondering if anyone is using one? And what they thought of it compared to the gnx. My gnx suites me just fine! 8) The bang for the buck as they say can't beat the gnx imo. I think them axe-fx go fer around $1500 - 2000 Then throw in the LFC ...Can pick up some QSC's , JBL'S for that or a new axe. I'm pretty tight so I would really have to justify it some how for being a back room player. But if they are that sweet..........

Since this is Digitech's board, I'll keep it short... The AxeFx is on a different level than the GNX. I've owned the GNX 4 and 3000. Tones, controllability, latency, control options, etc... I own one of the first AxeFx Ultras and to this day am still amazed by it. In all fairness though, I don't think Digitech is aiming at the same market.
It'll run you some $$$, but you really get what you pay for. Considering how much less it is than Eventide units, I think it's actually still a bargain. If you want to know more, you can pm me or visit the AxeFx forum or GuitarLogic (out of respect to this board).

I like pedalboard stuff as my application needs for a modeler would be primarily live use.
Price tag is studio-esq as well.
Why do you think the gnx4 is dying?
