Mangling The Classics #21
I don't know if there's still anyone hanging around here who's aware of my \"Mangling\" series...it's where I post my heinous covers and other such stuff I wouldn't dare post on my SoundClick site.
So...this is one I put together in about 2 hours on a rainy afternoon, using a b/t I found somewhere. The wind was howling so bad my condenser mic was picking it up.
Sadly, I didn't have the SBC, so the mix is a little thin...and I didn't bother much fussing with FX for the \"solo\" parts. And yes, I know that this playing would make Gilmour oscillate in his grave.
This is the new-n-improved version:

Here's my original \"effort\":

Someday I'll try to learn how to play guitar
Besides, PF music is just so killer...
I s'pose I coulda made this a lot better by putting some time into FX for the solos I did, and adding the ones I left out, and doing them better altogether. And getting the SBC. Or do some (better) backing vox.
But when I don't have Shania in the hot tub to inspire me, I have a little trouble doing my best work...
Good job on the vocals, must be the new environment.
I get asked all the time \"how can you play the guitar and yet sing like some one stepping on a cat's tail?\" It's really not that hard I just open my mouth and that's what comes out.
peace
In fact, I spent some time this afternoon re-doing some of the backing vox for this stab at Floyd, and I'm thinking I oughtta take another crack at some of the git'r work too. Might as well make a decent song out of it...otherwise Anne's NEVER gonna call me back. :?
Fixed some of the bad solos (with ones that aren't quite as bad); added some I'd left out; and used my new Roland to add some of the SBC vox.
Here's the link (I also updated the one at the top of this thread):

Not great video or audio quality in the recording (a small digital camera with video/audio recording capability was used) but a really good demonstration of proper picking technique (JMHFO - just my humble fatherly opinion)... BTW, she uses a GNX4 (I think for 'Hide Away', she used one of the Clapton crossroads g4p patches)

But yeah, yer dotter plays real nice, and will probably only get better. And the git'r is tasty.
So, yeah, when you meet chix who tell you \"let's be friends\" make sure n give 'em my number. 8) Tall, semi-dark, vaguely handsome, and a spectacular wanne-be git'r player.
