I just bought a gnx3000

Hi all, just bought a gnx3000, it seems a bit daunting all those amps and speaker combo`s. I will have to spend some time getting to know how it all works, any tips? I have recently started playing again, and I am using a les paul standard, and a deluxe strat through a marshall dsl401. I live in the U.K. At the moment it is for home use, but frequently play with a bass playing mate, I like Rush, Thin Lizzy, Pink floyd and many others.

  • Welcome aboard!
You've landed on the right place to exchange experiences with a bunch of great musicians that always are willing to share their knowledge on Digitech GNX and pedal FX, just browse around the topics on the forum and you will find answers to almost any question you have about your equipment.
You need to ride the learning curve with this sophisticated piece of equipment (nothing from outer world by the way), so to begin, sit comfortably, read the manual and experiment, then, come around often with your questions and you'l be enlightened.
Nice to read you're getting back to playing.
    Take care!

So. Heed what he said about the learning curve; don't be impatient of try to learn it all at once or get discouraged by the variables and vastness. Keep the manual handy for reference - it's quite useful, if a little dry - and haunt the forum, as there's probably very little that you'll encounter that hasn't already happened to one (or all ) of us.
I'd especially recommend reading about using a MFX/modeler with a git'r amplifier, which is fraught with problems.
And experiment a lot; things start to get natural and come easier after some use.
And if you're in the UK, how 'bout putting in a good word for me next time you run into Liz Hurley at Starbucks??? 8)
  • thanks for the welcome, will experiment with gnx, and take tips from the forum, if i see liz hurley (in our dreams) I will probably be a gibbering idiot, and fail big time to mention shredds intentions
