rhythm song base

Just a somewhat monotonous song rhythm base idea, been trying different amp settings and recording techniques. this is 2 guitars pushed to right and left channels with different amp settings both on LP studio, Marshall JVM 410C no effects other than amp reverb. Unfortunately the stereo separation was lost somewhat during compression to MP3. Again just a rhythm idea put down but would like your thoughts, suggestions or comments good or bad. If anyone feels they would like to use it for a jam track feel free to use it.

  • Nice, good riff, the only thing that takes away from it is the two guitars dont always stay together and it sounds like one has a delay but then they get back together and it sounds good again. I understand though if you did it as just record one guitar and then the other on top, expessially without a metronome its really easy to speed up or slow down unknowingly, i know ive done it. Id say work on using a metronome or download some drum beats and ill be taking this advice too.
  • does have nice grab at the begining, I can see potential in it, imo you can take this in several direction! I agree with blackibanez, you would be surprised what a simple drum beat will do for a riff !! 8)
  • thanks guys, i really noticed the speed difference after i recorded it, but I was just laying down a quick and dirty couple of tracks before the idea disappeared! plus I was playing with my new amp (mic placement, etc.) I agree completely about the drum beat thing. I guess I was in too much of a hurry to throw the tracks down instead of digging up a drum track. Thanks for the good advice, that's what I like about this forum. We all are continually learning something from someone.
