Amazing Grace

I got my wife to sing again this time alone. Also this is my first attempt at kb so its kinda not so good. But I love this arrangement for this song. It was a lot of fun to do.

  • I think you forgot a link. But today I'm not all here, so maybe it's me.
  • OOps the link is there now
  • Man that is cool arangement Scott!! Kind of reminds me of the one we do at Church. Tommlins Version that adds that chorus My \"chains are gone\" We also do the very traditional one out of the Hymbook ocasionally. Anyhow great take on this man!! Loved the guyitars in this! Great Job Scott! Let your Wife know She is deffinetly getting there 1 tune at a time! My only comment was for to focus on learning to Sing without Screaming At times Her voice sounded real good man!! I think when She gets more compfortable with this She is going to be a great Singer!! Maybe even when She belts it just to get a feel for pulling the mic back to even the sounds? Overall She did a great job! As well as you Scott! 8)
  • Scott and Mrs. Scott Yea ! she/you can pipe it!

My question is... Is she moving in an out on the mic or are you adjusting volume? If she is moving on the mic, find the happy place distance plus volume and stay there. What software you usung ? you should be able to clip the parts that are high and low, and adjust the volume as necessary.Jmho. But I don't know what I'm doing anways so my 2 cent is probabky tantamount to pissing in the wind  :lol:

But keep working her out .. uh the vocals that is ! She sounds great! Smooth out the rough edges and I believe you have a very good female front! 8)

Ps. Thought your solo was very nice too!
  • Thanks guys. I feel if she would become less selfconcious she would do wonderfully. (She still makes me leave the room when she sings.

Partch: I have been wanting to do this version at church but we have a lot of older folks so I haven't been let to try it yet. I gotta keep things semi mellow. But one day

Rawb: I'm using PT plus and am still very new at recording and mixing so I need to learn some things about clipping and such. I told her to pull the mic away when she got louder but she needs to work on that part. BTW that was the first solo I ever made up. When a friend first showed me the minor pentitonic/blues scale.
  • Nice arrangement, sounded great. I can tell your wife has a great voice.
  • Thanks guys. I feel if she would become less selfconcious she would do wonderfully. .

No! Not if! .... When! :) She'll get there ! Think positive Bro. You, myself, ( well shouldn't really count me  ) and everyone else here wouldn't be where were at if we didn't keep plugging away at it. How about the first few times you sat in with a band, recorded? Now your over it! Sooner or later so will she!

Pretty soon it will be time to initiate phase two! You don't leave the room. But isolate her in a vocal booth! ya I know , I don't have one either! But for her you make a curtian vocal booth. And tell her it does the same thing as a solid booth! Then after that the curtian comes down and you still sit at the controls. And after that invite another musician in that she knows , and then a few more, and then some groupies who like to just hang out with musicians, Then she does a few tunes for family and friends in the backyard bbq, Boom bada bing! She's stage ready!:lol: I got it all worked out for ya! .... Ya I know that too! Reality is a whole different story!:lol::lol:

Just keep having fun bro. That's what it's about!
