Happy Birthday

My sister was in town this weekend and we often spend time recording her newest songs. This weekend we did a birthday song she wrote. It's absolutely beautiful to me...lol (of course) There's something haunting about her voice in this piece. I thought I'd share it.

    Hey that was different Buzzhaze. Very interesting BUT cool 8) Like the message! Hey what is she putting her voice thru? Or is it just effects & such after clean vocal take? Just wondering man. Thanks for sharing man! 8) :D

    Hey that was kinda haunting! 8) specially with the backing chorus. I liked it buzz! I agree with shred, what a talented family!

    As Partch wants to know so do I. Was she going thru or added later a delay? or was the track doubled and one set back a touch. Was she wavering or was there a fx and/or to cause that or enhance it?

    Can you get her to do a song backed with a band? Bet she would sound very nice! Also I think an original Buzzhaze duet, with yourself and her would be awsome! yea! 8) Gots to get her back in the studio! For more show and tell :lol:

    Thanks. She's got BIG talent....and a couple of CD's out there. She lives in Toronto.

    She sang the same vocal line on 3-4 tracks, then added a few more of backup vocals. No click track, no rehersal, no warmups...ha-ha!!! I just stuck the mic in front of her and told her to sing something cool.

    We just added a little delay/reverb during mixdown. She ripped it off in about 20 mins. Again, I think the Neumann mic makes all the difference. (at +$1200, it better :) We recorded \"Searchin for the word\" here about a month ago. The rest was done in Toronto studios by her producer and dear friend Nick Blagona. (he's one of the best producers on the planet)
