Hey Good Lookn'.. (By Tal).
Yeah...The old Hank Williams Sr. tune..
2 guitars, one doing walking bass and chords, the other doing my poor mans impersonation of Chet, followed by some chord melody and single line stuff...

I was just listening to Hank sr. the other day! Nice, made my ears happy! Thanks ...
I am finishing up a 55th wedding aniversary vid. Ole Hank has a few entries for the sound track. You just gave me an idea about maybe going with alternative instrumentals. :shock
Once again nice version, wish I was smart enough and versital enough to transpose a song from one genre to another! 8)
Wish I had your chops...
Standing up with my hand over my heart while listening to this.. Bravo, Bravo he shouts at the computer screen as the last note fades from the speaker.
Well I am in a much better mood now. I am off to the live Saturday night Bluegrass on the Square in beautiful downtown Garland, Tx. That's right folks live bluegrass every Saturday night from the first Saturday in April through the last Saturday in October. A few simple rules. Bring an acoustic instrument. Bring the whole family and enjoy the picking. Bring a watermelon if you can.
Thanks Tal, for the excellent post.
peace.
Lovin those legs Too!
You say that like it needs justifying! :P Long live flatpickers! Purple Elephant man. I laugh at them narrow minded dope heads that think it's all about distortion, making rock horns? And amphetmin (<--- spelt wrong) inhanced solos! With that being said, I do like to rock! But I also enjoy a wide variety of genres, a few I absoluyely can't stand, perhaps in time I will learn to appreciate them
But to stay on topic; Tal once again a very nice cover! 8)
I started working on these walking bass lines thing a couple of years ago, thanks to this on-line lesson, from the great jazz guitarist Kevin Van Sant.

Have talked to him a number of times on another site I frequent. hell of a player, and this lesson gives you a good starting point to begin practicing those lines..
Thanks once again!!!!
thank you for playing you.
There's a woman from the Bay Area, Mimi Fox, who studied with the late great Joe Pass (bass comping god). She kills on jazz stuff and has a very open minded musical approach. And she's signed to Steve Vai's Favored Nations label.
I spoke witih her and babbled about how cool it was for her to on that 'guitar aware' label and part of the zappa legacy...... and she basically said that she is a Vai fan and is extremely 'jazzed' about her situation, and that Vai was her fan as well.
