No Simple Task
My younger brother is a singer songwriter multi/instrumentalist, asked me to lay down some solos at a recording studio yesterday. The lead in the middle is the baritone setting on the VG Strat, he wanted it simple and to follow the main melody. The outro solo is a duel rectofier with the strat's middle pick up (recorded \"cold\", first take...I didn't know I was doing an outro solo)...he told me right before-\"think Dire Straits\", only more raw\"
This isn't mixed & mastered yet, so it's a little \"stark\"

I don't know if like this for you but sometimes the first take is the best.
P
At times it almost sounded like a voice in the background.
It made me listen twice.
Good Job by all.
Yes, I hear Elvis Costello in there too, and a little Counting Crows & Dire Straits....not my usual cup of tea, but what the heck...
Not mixed yet, and thats out of my hands so I'll just wait...I asked the baritone to be bought up, and drenched in \"long spring reverb\" 8)
That was an awsome solo too. Great vocals. Great all around.
There's no saving me at this point!
