Just Talkin' - An experiment in vocal styling

I wanted to try something different that involves speaking rather than singing. I had a little lick sitting around doing nothing so I just cranked up the mic and said whatever came to mind. It makes no sense really but you should be able to get an idea of what I'm trying to do.

Let me know what you think. I might try writing some real words for it.

  • That was pretty cool! Nice relaxing music. The talking bit was right on! Fit the musics attitude perfectly!

I wouldn't be to alarmed if no one replies to this. Seems all the regular posters have been hit with a ' server problem \" and can't post! But I have been noticing that those who haven't posted in a while and new registers can post! So when will things get back to normal? Who knows, I haven't heard anything.

Once again though, I really liked the word experiment!
  • Works for me, Buzz. Like those blues licks.

    peace
  • Thanks. I cleaned it up a little and added some back up vocals. I wanted to put a modern spin on a classic blues style. Not sure if it worked.
  • I dug it. The strat sounds great. I really liked the melody, and the mellow KB's...the song definitely lends itself to lyrics. You've got a great voice, for speaking OR singing!
  • Thanks Shredd, the Kurzweil keyboard is really paying for itself. I love the sound of it. I'm getting better every time I sit behind it.

I play all the tracks live, non-stop. I prefer to get a spontaneous sound so there's a few rough spots where I stray off the lines...lol I will be doing more stuff with the Strat for sure.

    thanks for listening
  • Man that was awsome Buzhaze! I did not hear it before the backing vocal? BUT I love what that adds! Great Job! Love the Strat Tone!! You got me chompin at the bit now for my American Deluxe FMT HSS! 8) Anyhow glad I was finaly able to check your new stuff out! Whorth the wait 8) :D
  • Way Cool Buzz! Shades of Robbie Robertson in there. I really like the spoken vox, it fits the mood of the song to a T. The guitar work was top notch, great choice of tone, I really liked the openness of the solo, less is more is my motto. once again another winner. Don't you ever sleep?
    Great stuff, keep it coming.
