shredd arrives at SoundClick

Well...I done gone and jumped into SoundClick. I just did it for the exposure, since the frenzied response I'm sure to get will attract Cam's attention.
Plus, I listed a couple of my original songs I posted here as paid (albeit cheap) downloads, so the vast fortune I'm sure to amass will attract scads of supermodels and promiscuous gold-diggers.

  • shredd is that you? Dang bro. I had an image of snuffy smith in mu head! . Jackson as in hole? If it is I been there, almost came close to getting in a death fight there. Glad it worked out iin my favor!

So hows it feel to be a sound click member? Setting up a my space page next? :lol::lol:
  • Yep, Jackson in the hole.
Death fight, eh? Musta gone to the Cowboy Bar in your fringe pants, eh? Or the Virginian, and dissed gun rights??

SoundClick is fine, I guess...once you get past the internet privacy thing. I'm a little leery of having personal information stored anywhere...seems every day a credit card company has some hacker steal 5 million people's SSN's. Very scary.
But hey, it's just my piddly music, right? And I can always change my email address...
Meanwhile, I'm sure Jaime Pressley is frantically searching for my page, so she can show up at my door in her bikini, ready for hot tub frolicking... 8)
And yes, that's me on the page. Not quite Snuffy Smith, but I still seem to frighten children and single women. :?
  • Posted something on soundclick for ya

Thanx! It's a pretty cool site, and I hadn't really looked around much. But I'm digging the music browsing thing, especially 'cuz a lot of the guys here at the forum have pages there. Like ODB - I have most of his stuff on my iPod, and now I have a face to go with the voice. But...who knew his wife was prettier than he is? :P
  • Welcome to Soundclick Shredd! So that's you eh? I think it's neat to put a name with a face 8)

Wish it was a manly bar brawl.

Actually the young girl at the desk gave me the keys to my room. So when I went in, I found it was already occupied! LoL Wish I had a camera at the ready Cuz the look on the dudes face was priceless LoL to see this long hair mother walking in on him and his ole lady playing bed checkers! :lol: Fortunately for me he wasn't dressed for a fight ( know what I mean! ) Wanna talk about an awkward moment!
The girl at the desk, was apologizing perfusely. I told her no harm done ( from my pov ), but if I had been shot then she would have to be kissing some a$$!

So that's my Jackson in the hole story. And your right it is some of the best scenery !
  • \"Bed checkers\"??? That's quite a euphemism...I'll have to try that one one Cam, when the restraining order expires...
  • Who jumps who , how many times and where on the board? Thats how you play checkers! my friend. :P
  • I just put up my SoundClick page two days ago, and my song \"Tasha's In Love\" is already #729 on the charts, out of over 8300 songs. I'm so proud!! 8)

  • Shredd,

I just listened to all your songs, and I must say, you have more skills as a songwriter and guitarist than you put on. Granted there are areas that could use work, but everyone has those. Where the skills lack, imagination picks up.

I think you should work on developing some of those ideas (Silence, Lovely) into full-length songs... do another verse - or, in some cases, actually have a verse - then have an interlude, and lead out. Rip it like Satch, man

You know, I might just follow suit and join you up there...
  • Shredd, I'm a new fan--I like your stuff. Even though I am at work right now and only played a readers digest version of all the songs, I can tell I'm going to like the songs in whole. Hopefully I can get as good as you and some others on mixing along with getting the cobwebs off my fingers. Anyway, good stuff.

Much appreciated! And I'm glad you enjoy the stuff. I hope to keep adding to it, so stay tuned. Thanks for listening! 8)
  • Shredd, I signed on your site as a friend. Here I am Rampage, there I am the guitar player. I'm doing alot of different things with my music now days, mostly with East West files and playing guitar as well. You may find it quit interesting, or not. It is a lot of work, but I personally enjoy the transitions I have been creating. I do need a lot of work, but then again I'm working on it each time I compose a piece. I like your song on SoundClick, I have been there for over a year now and have had a #1 song on sound click and several in the top 10, top 50 and the top 100. Lost of competition out there, but I never compete, I just post a song and it goes where it goes. I think you will like it on Sound Click and have lots of fun. Keep up the great guitar work, I have always enjoyed your music arrangements.

Thanks - for listening, and for your impressions and ideas. You're a more experienced player than I am, so to me that means I could learn plenty from you.
The songs that are up there so far - not counting the Tasha songs - are stuff I did waaaay back when I got started, with my little Fostex 8-track. And, as you can tell, my song-writing skills were pretty unpolished too.
The Tasha stuff was literally soundtrack music for a movie scene I had in my mind...if I'd wanted it to be 'song' music, or had actual footage to compose to, I'd probably have mixed differently, and done some fades, blends, segues, whatever.
Now I have a song in the can that's a bit more developed in terms of going from section to section...I actually have lyrics written for it, but they suck - less than others I've done, but still - so I'm recording without vox again. I might put some backing vox in, just in case I find someone who can write lyrics, or sing, or both.
I also have a large number of covers I've recorded, in the hope I can get the songbird to come over and lay down vox trax for me.
And if a frog could fly, it wouldn't bump his butt hoppin'...

So...send the link to all your friends, and I'll try to sign up all the cuties to my fan list!

Hey John - thanks for stopping by my page! I love your git'r collection.
And I'm glad you enjoyed the tunes. Stay tuned, there's more to come. And send the link to everyone! 8)

And the photo of your gear is drool-worthy!!!
  • New song posted! It's called When Is It Time, and despite being long-ish (there's big holes for the vocals, which I left out again 'cuz my lyrics SUUUCK... ), I really like it and I think it's good. Maybe you will too?

There's also a \"cut\" version in the works, which is one verse shorter and omits the instrumental breaks. I'll put it up as soon as my gear cooperates (apparently, my Tascam is fussy about CDRW's, while CDR's work fine...I just hate to \"waste\" a CDR every time I want to finish a song. :?
