Wanna hear a remake?
As you all know, since you follow my musical career with such rabid interest
, that one of my first postings was a tune I called \"Cost Of Silence\" (http://www.guitarworkstation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3358), based on the lyrics I wrote for it. Yet the lyrics were so bad I recorded the song with no vox.
Welllll...two years later I still haven't written decent lyrics for it, so I haven't decided what it should be called, let alone record vox for it.
But...I have \"rerecorded\" it recently, since my equipment, my playing ability (such as it is  ) and my recording skills have all improved. Anyone interested, or would I be wasting DT's storage space???

For those who play euchre, my daughter got so excited because she \"got her first loner\" in hearts. Both bowers, Ace, Queen and another suit ace to ride along with those trump cards. She ordered me up a mere 9 trump and then said I'll play alone, I think. They won a hand and my wife and I won a hand, so now the rub match is next.
peace
I'm glad some of you enjoyed the original; like most players, I do it mostly for the fun and enjoyment of creating, and for my own gratification. And, of course, in the hopes that some hott little groupie type will fancy me the answer to her dreams.
But, of course, it's always very satisifying when someone - anyone - enjoys your efforts. I think of guyz like kbauer and carciello and even ODB, and how much I dig their stuff...I actually have a bunch of it on my iPod.
So, I'm happy to hear someone enjoyed it. When I get the new version wrapped up, I'll post it for all to \"enjoy\".
PS hey Mike - I can't even pronounce euchre, let alone play it. But ain't it kewl when the heads bob and the butts shake? (I saw this happen when the two chix - my ex and the songbird - played some background tunes at a small party, and even though no one was watching them play, everyone's heads was a-bobbin'.... 8) )
My skills are not what they used to be because so few people in Texas know the game.
peace
I definitley have alot to learn recording on software instead the old fashioned way--with a board and an 8-track cassette recorder. I have to learn how to connect different drum beats together, ie connecting verse to chorus to bridge etc. I am sure there is an easy way to do this.
Anyway, don't take too long to let us hear the re-mix. I wouldn't worry about the vocals--unless youre tone deaf--Jimi Hendrix wasn't the greatest singer either.
I will be getting my new computer today, so I am anxious to get started and have some of my stuff critiqued(misspelled). Thanks for your input on hardware. Take care.
Stupid question, but if the wedding gig is still on; have you played it for the song bird , at one of your pratices? Maybe she has some words for it?
Then we all can hear that angelic voice! Perhaps a duet with her? Vocally that is!
Not a stupid ? at all, in fact as soon as I was playing with her I wanted to get her working on some of my stuff. I have no less than 9 songs in the can, basically done save for mixing, just waiting on her vocals. It probably won't surprise you guys that I have trouble getting women to come to my house.
She actually has a copy of this song, and I told her I'd love to have her write some lyrics for it - she's very good at it. And sing it, if she wants to. When I played it for her, she was humming along coming up with harmonies on the fly, first listen. Sheesh. Dam, she's good.
She n I actually have a singing duet - \"Picture\", by Sheryl Crow & Kid Rock...it sounds pretty good, considering it's been covered by any and everyone in the nation who can sing in the least...a group I juuuust qualify for.
Anyway...if I can ever get her to come over and sing, I'll start posting stuff under my \"mangling\" series.
And if I can get any other kinda duet going with her, you won't be hearing from me, 'cuz I'll be dancin' in the street.

I'm not crazy about how it came out sounding after MP3 conversion, which bites cuz I put a lot of effort into sound and tambre and mix and so on. The CD I burned off the Tascam master is awesome. But it still sounds better.
Even so...it seems to lack a certain mojo that the original had. The only difference I can think of is that this time I didn't have Shania frolicking in my hot tub as a distraction...
And, sadly, still no lyrics or vox, hence the unchanged name...I guess if I ever write lyrics that don't suck for it, I can rename it. :?
So what the name of your band gonna be?
Shredd and his all girl band The Sheet Shredders !?
Tonight I was indulging in some power-chord therapy and wondered what this song would sound like in hard-edged form. Dam that's good. I wish I'd thought of it. 8)
Liked it as well, I hear a country-rock kind of thing, lyrically. A chick's voice would blend well.
My vote for your all-girl band would be: Shredd and the She-devils or maybe Shreddie's Angels.[/code]
I grew up playing Euchre. No one plays it out here so I taught my two kids (11 and 14) how to play as well as my wife. So now I have four and we switch off partners from time to time. Once they learned, they got addicted
And I love the band names. Now all I gotta do is find a gaggle of babe-a-licious hotties that can play instruments.
Oh yeah, and then form a band...
PS - I had someone get me hooked on Cribbage. It's like crack. My ex's parents want to teach me bridge...and I said no, I plan on leaving the house at some point in life!!!
